Most people know in this community that I prefer Star Trek (ST) over Star Wars (SW), thou I love both. But this not about which is better, BUT MORE ABOUT WHAT STAR TREK IS. I know some of you are going to comment on Star Wars blah blah. But I ask you to take a step back to look at the bigger picture.
"In September 1991, the elder Roddenberry, in a wheelchair, was honored on the 25th anniversary of the TV series. Rod, then 17, was there simply to be a dutiful son, but, he says, when he helped his father to his feet onstage and "the entire Shrine Auditorium got up to applaud him, chills went up and down my spine. That was almost the first smack in the face that there's more to this guy who's your father (USA, 28 NOV)."
“Rod will take SCIENCE audiences along with him as he explores his father’s work and the impact of his legacy that still resonates today. Through interviews with his most devoted fans, including George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, Stan Lee, Nichelle Nichols, Wil Wheaton and many others, TREK NATION is the story of a son trying to learn more about his father by unraveling the intricacies of Star Trek.”
