Carrie Fisher, who is best known for her role as Princess Leia in the three original Star Wars films, has apparently confirmed that she would be appearing in the seventh film, which will be released in 2015. The Calgary Herold reports:

"Yes, Carrie Fisher confirmed to a rapt audience at the BMO Centre Saturday afternoon that she will in fact be reprising her most famous role of Princess Leia in a new series of Star Wars films, which will be produced by Disney. She was the first of the original cast members to announce her participation back in March, although apparently jumped the gun. Her publicist later said she was joking and that nothing had been confirmed.

However, it seems to be a done deal now. But for fans looking for a sneak-peek of what to expect in the new film, Fisher didn’t offer many juicy details."

Carrie also talked about training and Disney:

“I like being bought by Disney, because they never wanted to buy me before,” she said during a talk at the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo. “I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”

So do you guys want to see Carrie Fisher return to the role of Princess Leia? Comment below and let me know!

Star Wars Episode VII is an upcoming film from Lucasfilm scheduled to be released by Walt Disney Pictures in 2015. It is to be the first Star Wars film produced under Disney's ownership of Lucasfilm. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will serve as executive producer of the film, and George Lucas will serve as creative consultant.

I know this might sound blasphemous, but I hope her and Mark Hamill dont have big roles. There is a reason their careers didnt take off and I hope they dont let these actors take the limelight, simply for nostalgia

Get them in shape and get them in small roles, and make sure the kids aren't little children.

The Sith shouldn't be the main focus villains, at least not until episode 9. Bring Boba Fett back in some way, to make fans happy.

It's still hard to grasp the fact that in two years, we will have another Star Wars Movie.

Did anyone think they'd do anything less? Of course they're all going to get whipped into shape for these movies. Disney don't play, man. I wouldn't be surprised if they did something digitally with her voice too. Just cause she sounds like she had a couple decades of alcohol and cigaarettes doesn't mean Leia will.

I really wouldn't be surprised if Ford, Hammil, and Fisher have already signed deals.

It probably won't be officially confirmed until footage and/or trailer is shown at Comic-Con.

@NPaMusic She was prepping for the role of her lovechild with Jabba when that pic was taken. A large part of SW 7 deals with the child (Jabeia)Leia had because of her slave girl sex with Jabba.

Man, apart from Yoda, I hope none of the original and prequel Star Wars trilogy characters come back for the new ones.

Not excited to see Grandma Leia. Never liked Princess Leia anyway. But one sure thing that would make up for it is if they let Carrie Fisher write her own dialogue. I love her sense of humor.

Wow, people still acting like this woman is huge. She was at one point in her life now she's not. What's so hard to understand about that?

"No out of shape Jedi? What was Sir Alec Guiness,Mr.Olympia?

He was old,his power didn't come from his frame, it was from a lifetime of hard earned wisdom.

Doesn't anybody remember Yoda talking to Luke in Empire.Muscles don't mean sh.t
its training and knowledge that makes a Jedi.Lucas ruined that by going crazy with the gymnastics in the prequels.

Of course the old stars will be in supporting roles in the new films that will star the best that young Hollywood can provide. It's just that the return of the originals is a message to fans that these films will not be the prequels.Relax, the film will have young Jedi in it.

Btw, gaining and losing weight in a cycle is part of the aging process. It happens to most people and will likely happen to you at some point in your life.

A great part of being young is that you can treat your body like crap while still looking great with a small amount of upkeep. When you get older, its easier to get
out of shape and harder to get back in shape.

It seem like even having a supporting role in Star Wars has given Fisher a new lease on life. Good for her.
