First Teaser For STAR WARS REBELS Hits

First Teaser For STAR WARS REBELS Hits

Here we have a very early promo for Lucasfilm's upcoming animated series, Star Wars Rebels. It's pretty brief and there's no actual glimpses of any characters, but we should be seeing a bit more this weekend at NYCC. Check it out after the jump.

The series is set between the events of Episode III and IV -- an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. It takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.

Star Wars Rebels will be produced by Lucasfilm Animation, featuring many of the key talents that made Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It is scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, and will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

The voice over is the only problem I have with this. Everything else is ok.

@BatmanRobinNightwing But the show was announced a couple months ago, They just started casting a week ago. We'll probably have real footage this weekend, but if we don't I wouldn't be surprised.

the clone wars was perfect, the people behind it knew what they were doing. and most of them are in for rebels, so i think it should be great.

I wonder if this show will be narrated by some rebel that is filming a reality show while breaking down the fourth wall.

This was an excellent teaser and I loved the narration. A Disneyfied version of Star Wars, just what we need! I can't wait for the animated teenage version of Indiana Jones voiced by Taylor Lautner!

I hope the tone is no lighter than clone wars

Yay, more prequel bullshit. I had hoped Lucas was the only driving force (pun) behind the chronic prequelitis. At least the next movie will actually be a next movie, looking forward (another pun) to seeing this universe move ahead.

Disney is the antichrist to the geek fanboys because they make two CBM's a year. They are upset that their favorite heroes aren't the center of the public's attention.
