During a conference call with fellow Almost Human EP J.H. Wyman, Abrams talked about the decision to replace Toy Story 3 scribe Michael Arndt on Star Wars: Episode VII script duties along with Empire Strikes Back co-writer Lawrence Kasdan. “It became clear that given the time frame and given the process and the way the thing was going that working with Larry in this way was going to get us where we need to be and when we needed to be,” explained the Star Tek Into Darkness director. “Working with Michael was a wonderful experience and I couldn’t be a bigger fan of his or adore him more, He’s a wonderful guy and was incredibly helpful in the process.” So, they felt he was working too slow then basically. Abrams concludes by saying that although he and Kasdan will be writing the first of the 3 new Star Wars flicks, it's entirely possible that Arndt will work with them again in the future.
