New STAR WARS Movies Won't Adhere To Any Specific Genre Says Lucasfilm Exec

Star Wars Episode VII will continue the story which kicked off in A New Hope (how much the new trilogy will link back to the prequels remains to be seen), but it sounds as if both this and the planned spin-offs won't be forced to adhere to the classic Star Wars formula. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal Lucasfilm's Vice President of development Kiri Hart told them that none of the upcoming movies will "rigidly" adhere to any established film genres as, "I think there are boundaries [to what defines Star Wars], but we don't want to rigidly define them. It's obviously not slapstick comedy, but there's room for many different stories and genres that still feel like Star Wars." This is interesting and something many fans have suspected since rumours started doing the rounds that Zack Snyder was being eyed to helm a spin-off which would have focused on a group of samurai-like Jedis. What this could mean is that Boba Fett will be very different than, say, Han Solo or Yoda. That's no bad thing! What do you guys think?
