Oh god.... when Frank Oz gives up because of his voice in the first video and says "thats all i can do for now" - watch the Yoda puppet!, his eyes roll back into his head and he looks like he dies! - like Frank pulls the plug (as his hand comes out) on his puppety-life. Its kinda horrific.

It always surprises me to see stuff like this coming out to the public so many years later. Star Wars is a phenomenon that has had several DVD releases, special editions etc. you'd think they would have put it all out there by now.

It makes MUCH more sense for Yoda to be telling Luke that he "must face Vader" AFTER learning that Luke found out Vader was his father. It's as if Luke has no choice but to confront Vader now in order to overcome this "weakness" Yoda speaks of.

In the theatrical version, Luke leaves Dagobah to rescue Han and Leia in ESB, and Yoda and Obi Wan beg him not to do it because he hasn't finished his training and isn't ready to face Vader. Then, Luke returns to Dagobah in ROTJ and Yoda suddenly claims that Luke doesn't need any more training. (WTF?!? #1) Luke says, "Then I AM a Jedi!" and Yoda says, "No, one thing remains--you must face Vader." (WTF?!? #2)

If fighting Vader was all Luke needed to do to finish his training, WHY did Yoda and Obi Wan plead with him not to go in ESB?? I've never understood that, but this missing scene seems to indicate that Luke was originally supposed to ask Yoda if Vader was his father BEFORE Yoda tells him he has to face Vader.

There's a major plot point in Return Of The Jedi that makes very little sense. Why does being a Jedi mean Luke cannot initiate action to stop the Emperor?
As Lucas himself said on an old video interview, Luke turns to the Darkside 2 times. When he grabs his saber and when he attacks Vader. Though the final duel with Vader was heavily reshot and originally Vader had Luke's saber and Luke force grabs it from him. In the scene left in the film as Vader reads Lukes thoughts, Vader is still holding the saber from the previous cut. Lucas called that Lukes final turn to the darkside in the interview which I think was on an old VHS of the trilogy.

Still, why couldn't Luke merely grab the saber and tell the Emperor that he was arresting him and taking him to the rebels, even if he knew the Emperor would fight back?
In Jedi Lucas indicates that as a Jedi Luke was helpless to just stand and watch the destruction of the Rebellion if he was a Jedi.

@Nomis, I check it out. Pretty cool, although Vader calling out to Luke felt a bit corny the way it was done. The lightsaber building was kind of badass, but someone on Youtube argued that the scene spoils some of the fun and surprise of the rescue scene. I can see both sides.
