I'm really disappointed Shane Black shot down the idea. He was my ideal choice for one of the episodes. Lucas once said this about other directors helming episodes:

"All the prototype stuff is done now. Nobody has to worry about what a Wookie is and what it does and how it reacts. Wookies are there, the people are there, the environment is there, the empire is there... everything is there. And now people will start building on it. I've put up the concrete slab of the walls and now everybody can have fun drawing the pictures and putting on the little gargoyles and doing all the really fun stuff. And it's a competition. I'm hoping if I get friends of mine they will want to do a much better film, like, 'I'll show George that I can do a film twice that good,' and I think they can, but then I want to do the last one, so I can do one twice as good as everybody else."

Black has such a unique and interesting style that no one else has that I would have loved to see on pasted Star Wars. Maybe Kennedy will give him freedom and he might reconsider. Maybe we could see a Life Day-themed Star Wars movie, lol, if you get my drift.

I don't get the appeal of Emma Stone. Her face is always so...artifical, to me. And her acting isn't particularly awesome either. Must be me i guess.

Part of what made the original Trilogy of movies what they were, was not casting popular actors at the time who already had recognition with the audience. This is what made those key actors forever known for their roles in the movie beyond any other.
