"That's no moon. It's a space station."

The latest downloadable expansion pack for DICE's 2015 reboot of the Star Wars Battlefront franchise, aptly titled Death Star, introduces Space Battles (a stable of the classic Battlefront series) to the game. In addition, players will be able to take control of Luke Skywalker's X-Wing, Darth Vader's Tie Fighter Advanced, and the heroes Chewbacca and Bossk (read more about their gameplay here), as they fight their way through the Empire's infamous super-weapon (both from the outside and inside), and battle any Star Destroyers that stand in their way. The expansion pack also gives players a new mode called Battle Station, two new blasters and star cards, and several new maps. Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star will be available on 20 September 2016 for Season Pass owners, two weeks ahead of its worldwide release.

Coming in September, Season Pass holders will receive our third digital expansion pack, STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT: DEATH STAR. Players will experience five new maps – on ground and in space – new weapons and Star Cards and two new heroes, the fearsome bounty hunter Bossk and everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca.

@sKeemAn -
Reportedly, we will be able to play as R2-D2, though the official site doesn't mention it (at least not that I saw).

As a Season Pass owner, I had a blast with Outer Rim and Bespin.

And to be honest, the Death Star DLC looks like the best one yet. Can't wait to kick some a** with Chewie and Bossk!

Does anyone notice how all of the playable villains in the DLCs are Bounty Hunters?

This looks like fun. Can't wait to take out a Star Destroyer. Looks tactical too. Targeting the Shield generators. Like the old X wing vs Tie fighter games I loved playing.

Haters can suck a fat wang. The games fun. Sold great. Still lots of players supporting it.

Convenient how they complain about the dlc they don't have to buy, yet since release they have received three all new maps, a new game mode, new guns, star cards, Jabbas contracts, and character skins completely free. That's an entire dlc pack for free for everyone. Not many companies do that. Buts let's just gloss over that FACT.

Like I said in a previous comment though, non dlc owners should get some Space combat options for free too. You should NOT have to pay extra for space combat of any kind in a Star Wars game. Give em a free space map.

@WYLEEJAY -
The problem most people have with it was that the original game was full price, yet it was bare bones and didn't have enough content to justify the price. They were also quick to announce an over-priced season pass, when the base game wasn't even a game on its own (just look at how much content the original games had, before companies could use DLC to rip players off). EA has also admitted that the game was rushed to coincide with STAR WARS TFA, and before Skirmish was added, the single player mode was so small, it was insignificant.

But I do agree that the game had redeeming qualities from the start, and I have had fun with it since they added content. Hopefully the sequel will be an actual, self-contained video game before EA even thinks about DLC.

@Darkknight2149 - Your absolutely right. Single player is lacking. But they had been telling people that from the start. Lucasfilm keeps story's from games, comics, cartoons and film in continuity. They knew they wouldn't be able to tell a substantial story in a campaign. You would have just been playing out the battles you have seen already. So it would have been horribly criticized. And they definitely didn't have the time they really needed. More could of been available on release if they had been given more time. But developers know this when your making a film franchise game. So they said from the start, no campaign. I can understand people being upset by that.

Battlefront 2 was my favorite Ps2 game. I still have it actually. Played it a couple months ago. And there is a lot of content. Cause they covered six films. This game they just wanted to focus on the Galactic Civil War from the original trilogy. So it's not really fair to compare a sequel, to a reboot part 1. I'm sure the new Battlefront 2 game coming out will have a lot more content like the other sequel did. And the season pass shaved ten bucks off, if you paid full price for it. I know a lot of people were getting great deals on the season pass. Not to mention how many times they put the base game on sale. I paid the full hundred ten bucks for mine. No deals, and I can still appreciate everything these guys have done for this game.
