STAR WARS Day Official "May The Fourth" Super-Cut Video Delivers A Powerful Message

Lucasfilm has shared an official compilation video to celebrate Star Wars Day, and it spans every movie and TV series in 42-year history of the iconic franchise, while also delivering a hopeful message...

Clinging on to hope in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds has always been one of the main themes of the Star Wars saga, and that powerful message is hammered home in this new super-cut.

Shared by the official Star Wars social media accounts to celebrate Star Wars Day, the 100-second video compiles footage from all of the movies in the Skywalker Saga, as well as Solo and Rogue One. There are also shots from The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, and even the recent Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game.

It's probably safe to assume that not even the staunchest Star Wars fan loves every installment in the long-running franchise, and the final chapter in the main Skywalker Saga, in particular, proved to be highly divisive. That said, there's no denying that this galaxy far, far away has brought and continues to bring a lot of joy to people's lives, and it's important to acknowledge and celebrate something that unites so many of us - especially in these dark and uncertain times.

Check out the video below, and let us know how you plan to mark Star Wars Day this year. Stay safe, have hope, and May the Fourth be with you.

The animated parts kinda stick out like a sore thumb.. But a neat video nonetheless

@BigMikeReviews - I think the Rebels animation stands out worse. Doesn't help that the art style looks like something outta Handy Manny:

@BigMikeReviews - they tried to adopt the original Ralph Maquirie? Concept art style for the animation. I’m not a fan of rebels, I agree that the animation just sticks out really awkwardly compared to the clone wars. HOWEVER, there are a few Episode Arcs that have SPECTACULAR animation, space battles, and saber duels. And some especially well earned character moments. Rebels isn’t consistently great....but when it is great....it’s incredible.

I just cant help myself but to go nitpick. The moment she says ''I have the jedi with me'' would've a thousand times better if all the force ghosts were there too in the final stand down in TRoS, especially if you consider they set up earlier in the same movie that force ghosts can have control over actual material things around them

@MalseMarcel - The only force ghosts we could've seen are Anakin, Yoda, Luke, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka. I guess they wanted to have all those other voices in it as well.

@MalseMarcel - they dont though. All that stuff we saw the ghosts do was on the island, which has been specifically mentioned to be a conduit for the force.

Really cool video, but the Luke-Leia kiss was a weird inclusion, and the lack of non-TPM prequel footage was odd

My only gripe, why open with the midichlorian scene

@IronTwigg - Because you can't have the Force without them and they bind the saga. Funny you brought it up as I watched Rise of Skywalker and I spent the movie wondering who has the higher midichlorine count because there is one upmanship between Kylo and Rey with Force tricks.

My gripe, since we're talking, is that they used the Rey theme over...anyother theme??

I see Anakin from Attack of The Clones and Phantom Menace.. but nothing Vader? Arguably the most important character?!? Other than that I liked it.
