STAR WARS: Here's The Latest On JEDI: FALLEN ORDER 2 And Rumored THE MANDALORIAN MMO Plans

There are some Jedi: Fallen Order 2 plans that could prove divisive among gamers, while an update on that rumoured MMO based on The Mandalorian is definitely positive...if you own a specific console!

Lucasfilm is looking to expand its Star Wars video game offerings in a big way over the next few years, and the hope is that we'll finally get a first look at the Jedi: Fallen Order sequel at Star Wars Celebration next month. However, a new rumour shared by industry insider Jeff Grubb suggests the title will be released exclusively on PC and next-gen consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

That means it wouldn't be available on the PS4 and Xbox One, which is likely to disappoint those who have been unable to get their hands on a newer generation console since they launched.

Talking of news that could frustrate gamers, insider Skullzi believes Xbox users can look forward to a huge Star Wars exclusive based on The Mandalorian. Rumours of a game tied to the hit Disney+ series surfaced last year, but this is the first major update we've had since then.

Apparently, it will be developed by the team behind The Elder Scrolls Online, Zenimax Online, and is set to be an MMORPG. There's always a chance that, if this game is in the works, it will be available on the PS5 as well because Star Wars is a big enough IP that console exclusives are somewhat unlikely. Then again, the Knights of the Old Republic remake from Aspyr is said to be a PlayStation-exclusive!

We'll have to wait and see what happens, but it's clear that the next few years will be an exciting time for fans who have been craving the chance to explore this Galaxy on consoles.

Fallen Order was such a fun time. I don't consider myself to be the biggest Star Wars fan, but the game made me truly feel the beauty and the magic of the world of Star Wars and allowed me to immerse myself in it.

Can't wait for the sequel, and I hope they have sections where you can visit more populated places and towns.

@Fares - Yes, it made me relive the feeling of old Star Wars and it was an excellent game too. I beat it on Jedi Master and loved all the challenges and secrets it offered.

@jj2112 - Oh I only played it on Jedi Knight and the second sister final fight made me quit the game for days before picking it up again.

But my favorite parts were the Zeffo tombs, the forest of Kashyyk and the battle with Malicos in Dathomir.

@Fares - There was a move that made the second sister fight quite easy, and some of the moves were overpowered, but it was a challenging game.

@jj2112 - It's always the shockwave that comes out of nowhere for me. And sometimes I get too greedy when I want to chip away at her health.

On the surface, "a video game based on the Mandalorian" sounds like something a clueless executive would suggest based on metrics. But if the developers actually care about the property and project, it could be amazing.

“Then again, the Knights of the Old Republic remake from Aspyr is said to be a PlayStation-exclusive!”

The phrasing was “exclusive at launch,” likely implying it’s a timed exclusive. In fact, the very Jeff Grubb you’re quoting stated as such around the time it was announced. Considering the legacy of the game, the developer and especially Microsoft would not want this to skip the Xbox. I mean you can play 1 and 2 on there via backwards compatibility or digital download right now.
