In "Monsters," which airs Friday night at 8:30PM ET/PT, Dooku seeks to replace Asajj Ventress with a new, deadlier apprentice. Little does he know that his new protégée – the formidable Savage Opress – has been selected by Ventress herself, and that the Nightsisters have used their witchcraft to transform the warrior into a monstrous killer without remorse, compassion or loyalty.

“I've really fallen for Ventress, and here the audience gets to learn a lot about her history. She's an extremely complicated character,” says Katie Lucas, writer of the three-part Nightsisters arc. “She’s a cold-hearted harpy, but she has good reason to be – and now she’s displaying a much more independent side of herself. Ventress is nobody's pawn anymore. She finally owns herself. I grew up on Buffy and Tank Girl, so writing for strong females is second nature to me. I listened to a lot of early Hole and The Distillers albums to inspire me while writing these stories; I really wanted to tap into that visceral female rage, and Courtney Love’s snarl certainly tears that right out of you.”

While Ventress has certainly asserted herself and assumed a more powerful role than ever before, “Monster” also introduces an all-new villain into the power struggle. A warrior from the same fearsome race that spawned Episode I’s Darth Maul, Opress is bred and trained to serve – but he is destined to become more powerful than ever his masters had imagined.

“Savage is a lot like Frankenstein’s creation,” says Lucas. “He's a monster, but you get brief glimpses of a real heart beneath the surface. He's a complicated character – I don't think he would have turned to the dark side without the manipulation of the witches. They use him.”

Daughter of the acclaimed Star Wars creator, Lucas acknowledges her personal connections to that “galaxy far, far away,” while still recognizing her writer’s responsibility to speak to the quintessentially Earth-bound human experience.

“If I hadn’t been raised in the Star Wars universe, I don’t think there would be any way I could write sci-fi. It doesn't come naturally to me. I've had to adapt," she says. "Part of being a screenwriter is knowing how to entertain, and the other part is staying true to your own vision. I’ve always been inspired by the truths of our world, universal and personal, here in our reality, and I try to bring as much of that as I can to The Clone Wars.”

"This is not the work of a Sith Lord, or a Jedi... but a reckless, impulsive animal."
―Obi-Wan Kenobi, referring to Savage Opress[src]

Savage Opress was a male Zabrak Nightbrother from the planet of Dathomir. During the Clone Wars, he was chosen by the Nightsisters to be transformed by their magic into a warrior with vastly enhanced abilities. He was to be given to Count Dooku and serve as a new apprentice and assassin to the Dark Lord, replacing Asajj Ventress, whom the Count had betrayed as ordered to him by Darth Sidious. Trained by Dooku in the ways of the dark side, he became a Dark Acolyte and part of the Separatist Alliance, killing Jedi and clone troopers alike. His servitude was secretly a ploy set by Nightsister Mother Talzin to allow Ventress to have revenge for Dooku betraying her; Opress would be the Count's protector, but would eventually turn on and kill him. The warrior was also said to be related to the Zabrak Sith Lord Darth Maul, whom had been Darth Sidious' apprentice before Count Dooku.[2]
Darth Sidious, Count Dooku's master, did not trust the growing power of his apprentice's assassin, Asajj Ventress, with the dark side. To prove his complete loyalty to Sidious, Dooku was ordered to eliminate his most trusted and valuable servant. Following her escape from the Count's execution attempt, Ventress fled to her homeworld of Dathomir.[3] She reunited with her fellow Nightsisters and sought vengeance on the Count; however, their efforts to kill him in his palace on Serenno failed. Mother Talzin and Ventress then conspired to get Dooku a replacement apprentice that would serve as his protector but eventually become his killer.[2] Talzin and the other Nightsisters chose Savage Opress, renowned as the fiercest warrior among the Nightbrothers, into the ultimate killing machine who would serve as this apprentice. The Nightsisters' first test for Savage was to murder his own brother, Feral.[source?] Dooku soon visited the planet and met with Talzin, who introduced him to Opress.
And I quote 'Said to be related to Darth Maul'.Nowhere does it say 'brother' in the official descriptions.Again, learn to read numptynuts!

From Wookiepedia : Savage Opress was a male Zabrak who was, during the Clone Wars, chosen by the Nightsisters to be transformed by their magic into a warrior with enhanced abilities who would be given to Count Dooku.
Trained by Dooku in the ways of the dark side, he became a Dark Acolyte and part of the Separatist cause, killing Jedi and clone troopers alike. He secretly served the Nightsisters, Mother Talzin and Asajj Ventress, Dooku's former apprentice and assassin who wanted revenge for the Count's betrayal of her. They planned to use Opress to get close to and eliminate Dooku. Darth Sidious, Count Dooku's master, did not trust the growing power of his apprentice's assassin, Asajj Ventress, with the dark side. To prove his complete loyalty to Sidious, Dooku was ordered to eliminate his most trusted and valuable servant. Following her escape from the Count's execution attempt, Ventress fled to her home planet of Dathomir.
She reunited with her fellow Nightsisters and sought vengeance on the Count; however, their efforts to kill him in his palace on Serenno failed. Ventress then planned to get Dooku a replacement apprentice that would serve as his protector but would eventually become his killer. Mother Talzin and the other Nightsisters transformed a Zabrak warrior, Savage Opress, into the ultimate killing machine who would serve as this apprentice. The Nightsisters' first test for Opress was to murder his own brother, Feral. Dooku soon visited the planet and met with Talzin, who introduced him to Opress. The warrior was also the brother of the Zabrak Sith Lord Darth Maul.
