Terminator meeting
“ ‘Terminator’ is something I’ve been having a lot of fun with. Just even this week, I had a great meeting with Arnold and James Cameron, just sitting down unofficially. And James is so gracious because he’s not part of the project, he’s not going to be producing, but it was great of him just as a filmmaker to take time out to just talk.”

“I don’t know where it’s going to lead, but I never thought at this level I’m going to be able to meet filmmakers and be in situations where they’re that gracious and insightful and so inclusive. And that’s a franchise that I’m working on right now, but again, if I’m going to be kind of the gatekeeper to it, I want to make sure that I can hopefully build it up the right way – and so far that’s been the most fun. Just to be able to take James Cameron’s brain and for him to be so open even though he has no stakes in it, just as a human being, that’s something that I will always remember as a part of my journey as a filmmaker.”

Justin Lin is impressing me early with his vision for this sequel. In the last few weeks we've heard from the director that he'd like to bring back Sarah Connor. Basically correcting a fatal error in the series. He brought up a very good point when he told moviefone a month ago,"I mean, I’ve always been surprised how, in part 3, she was just like... It was like one line and she was gone." Seriously, how do you swerve so far from the bread and butter of the franchise? For me the first two films were much better then the last two because of Sarah Connor. The transformation of Linda Hamilton's character from a meek contemporary female in distress into a badass G.I. Jane gal with deep mental scars was delicious to watch. She really need a more fitting conclusion to her character and hopefully Lin can provide that.

If Arnold is comebacking to the franchise they will have to break out the de-aging technology. Let me put this out there. Maybe they could have Arnold play a human that Skynet modeled their terminator after. That could work.

Why he passed on Die Hard 5?
“For many of the projects, I feel very privileged, but I just know it wasn’t the right situation. And the first ‘Die Hard’ changed me as a kid when I watched it. But ‘Die Hard 5’ is just not something that I’m going to do, or I’m interested in.”

“Fast Five” arrives on DVD and BluRay on October 4th.

I would've preferred a Die hard 5 than Terminator 5, but whatever.

Have Dwayne the Rock Johnson play the terminator. He is always in mediocre action movies.

i want a sequel to salvation because i loved it but honestly there is no reason for arnold to be in it anymore, they had his likeness digitally in salvation on a young body and that worked alot better, why would skynet keep making the terminators look old?

I had that exact thought about how Arnold could be fit back in to the franchise. He could be one of the humans John Conner freed from the Terminator factory in the latest movie. Maybe he hadn't been killed yet because they hadn't road tested the new prototype Terminator. T-5 could easily jump forward a few years deeper into the resistance and Arnolds character can help John infiltrate the first time travel facility. The movie could end with a sequence where Kyle is transported back in time and they recreate the first couple minutes from his arrival in T-1. If written smartly and acted decently, T-5 could bring some balls back to the Terminator franchise.

Terminator 4 had all the pieces in place to be a very good movie, they just didn't have a story of any kind. The atmosphere and the action sequences were great, the cast was great, it was just a pointless story. The next one needs a bit more effort at the scripting stage imo.

Terminator has always been a good franchise with a great storyline. As long as they stick to the plot, it should be rather easy to make. It's already made FOR them, just need to cast people and shoot the damn thing lol.

And I'll be the first to say that Fast Five was a good movie, so I have hopes for this director to do a good job. I like that he's humble, humble directors are great. Arnold would be CGI'd again, if his Terminator skin was in the film, cause as of right now, he looks physically, bad, especially his face.

All I want to see is what N was talking about, I just want to see the resistance get that teleportation technology and send Kyle Reese back in time (as the ending of the movie). Is that too much to ask for? The main plot point in the franchise of Kyle going back in time needs to be in it. I wonder if they're gonna pretend the 3rd and 4th film didn't exist. Even though I liked Salvation, it had a lot of plot holes that made zero sense, like the machine mainframe being emotionally upset with Marcus (they're machines, they have no feelings, which is the whole point of the story lol).

I love all four terminator films, each brought something to the franchise.

They'll probably just CGI Arnold to make him look like his 1984 Terminator counterpart. Basically the same way they did it in T4.

It's lame, but that's the only choice they have.

It wasn't Sarah conner that mnade the stroies great, it was how small and localized it felt. There was such a terrible danger, and no-one knew, and as soon as they found ou, they all conveniently died, making both movies just one extended chase scene.

T3 sucked because of Arnold's wrinkly terminator, John conner moved completely away from who he was supposed to become from T2, and there was way too much on the Terminatrix.

You want a good Terminator movie? Open with a resistance camp being attacked. have a t-101 become captured, and the humans want to destroy it, but John remembers when he sent one back for him self, so he reprograms it. Have them use info they got from the Hacked and reprogrammed Termninator to find the facilities where they are making a new upgraded T-1000, and have Robert Patrick cameo as the scientist, or someone involved in the process somehow, as the inspiration for the face of it. and halfway through the movie, discover the time travel plot, then have him send Kyle and the T-!01 to seperate time periods, or have the time travel as very limited, as it can only go back x amount of years, no more, no less.

All i can say is, we better see the future, and i dont mean that desert bullshit that McG gave us, im talkin that blue-black skulls everywhere future, with T-800s everywhere and HKs looming over whats left of humanity. Thats what the Terminator future looks like.
