New TERMINATOR Series Heading To Television; Will Tie-In To Upcoming Movie
Thor and X-Men: First Class writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller have been tapped by Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures to bring a new Terminator series to TV. It will intersect with the upcoming Alan Taylor helmed movie, and we have the first intriguing plot details right here!
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the Terminator franchise is heading back to television (the last effort - The Sarah Connor Chronicles - concluded four years ago). The fifth instalment of the movie franchise is set to be released on July 1st, 2015 from Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor. Written by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, the TV series "will follow a critical moment from the first Terminator film (1984) and, where the film's story goes one way, the upcoming series will take the same moment in a completely different direction. As the rebooted film trilogy and the new TV series progress, the two narratives will intersect with each other in some surprising and dramatic ways." As for the movie, they add that "Schwarzenegger will reprise his famed role in the new trilogy that is described as a time-spanning story that sees him tasked to protect Sarah Connor as she grows up."
