According to VanCityBuzz, a Vancouver- based news outlet. Disney has greenlit a Tron sequel and will begin filming in the city Oct. 5. For years fans have either held out hope or declared a continuition of a sequel was dead in the water. Various statements by Tron himself, Bruce Boxleitner, has suggested a third film was a done deal, but a lack of new movement on the project over the last few years have caused some to doubt these statements.
The article does not state a possible title or confirmed cast members. Back in Dec. of 2012 actor Garrett Hedlund confirmed he would reprise the role of Sam Flynn in a sequel. Olivia Wilde, who played Quorra has expressed interest in returining to the franchise but there has been no confirmation of this.

I goofed up when I went to edit this and accidentally deleted the article. SO if you had comments that disappeared that is why. Sorry about that. I haven't posted a story here in a while and got rusty. I also had it post multiple times on accident and not sure what caused that. That being said #FlynnLives.

If true, this will make my already great day even better because I thought it'd take them another 20 years to make the third film.

Like when the internet says Man Of Steel is the greatest comic book movie ever or the Webb Spider-Man movies are awesome.

ANOTHER TRON MOVIE?!?!

YES!!

Say what you will about the story, and pacing, I won't disagree that it disappointed a lot of people for a lot of legitimate reasons.

HOWEVER...I will contend that it is a visually BEAUTIFUL, and STUNNING movie, with a very well realized sci-fi world. I just remember sitting in the theater and being transported to the Grid. It was an experience.

Come on Disney! Make Tron 3 happen!!

@Jollem Sorry but I don't suscribe to the studio obsession game. Considering that you're willing to champion any CBM that isn't coming from Marvel Studios, you have very little room to talk about any other studio Stan. Actually, you're worse than a studio Stan because they do it for the love, while you let your hate motivate you dictate your poor taste.

@marvel72 It's too easy...

I was always a fan of the original movie. I thought the sequel was pretty solid and I'm surprised that Disney hasnt made another Tron movie. I'm really excited to hear news that they are currently developing a follow up to Legacy. I hope they get everyone back to reprise their roles. It would be great to have Daft Punk return to create another stellar soundtrack. Let's hope for the best.
