The First Reactions To ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Are Here, But Does The Movie Deliver?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has had a rather troubled production, but does that mean it's the next Fantastic Four or as good as The Force Awakens? Here are the reactions from the premiere.

With talk of reshoots and a new director being brought in to take charge of the post production process, it really did sound for a while like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be as messy as the likes of Fantastic Four and Suicide Squad. Well, those of you who had faith in Lucasfilm from the start have been rewarded today as the first reactions from last night's world premiere promise an amazing movie!

While it may have seemed that the entire story has been revealed in the countless trailers, TV spots, and clips we've seen, that's clearly not the case, and it's great to hear that the extensive reshoots have seemingly had no negative impact on the movie. Throw in the fact that the bloggers, critics, and personalities below are hailing it as one of the best Star Wars movies ever, and we're in for a treat!

The cast of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story includes Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, and a number of others, and it's currently set to be released on December 16th, later this year. Let us know your thoughts on this in the usual place.

I'm just glad that Vader gets a moment of "pure horror." It would be cool if he gets to kill one of the main characters.

@Craigferguson67 - I remember the F4 reboot early screening impressions. Nothing but hype and praise.

@Craigferguson67 - It's true. I want this film to be great, but let's wait for some actual reviews before we get excited. These early screening reactions are almost always positive.

I'm a bit concerned that we haven't seen early reviews. Typically when a studio is confident in a film they let the reviews come out early to help build the hype. Conversely, when they know the reviews will be bad they keep the embargo to the last minute.

@TimL - the F4 reactions were general audience members. These are all from professionals and critics.
