Jason Schwartzmann will play the evil Gideon in the upcoming "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," which releases in 2010. This means Scott Pilgrim played by Michael Cera will have to take on Gideon along with the other six ex-boyfriends of Romona Flowers played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

During an interview with Access Hollywood, Schwartzmann had positive feedback about working with Cera as well as the film's director, Edgar Wright.

"I had so much fun," said Schwartzman. "I was working with two people I admire so much, Edgar Wright, [the director of] ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz,’ and Michael Cera, who in my view is the best [actor] working. I got to learn how to sword fight and battle and I got to go up on the wires for some flying kicks and stuff."

With Schwartzmann playing the seventh and obviously last boyfriend for Pilgrim to battle against, the film will make him the greatest challenge of all, which leaves the actors performing all of his own stunts.

"It’s very stunt heavy," Schwartzman said, "Edgar let us do all of our own stunts."

Whispers68: I've never read any of the comic books but I try to support all comic book/graphic novel related films. How bad could this be?

It is a good comic. There is a lot of ridiculous action and hopefully it will be the same way in the movie.
