A theory on why 'The Gentleman' from The Amazing Spider-Man1/2 IS the Jackal.

Hello guys, welcome!
So, lets cut to the chase.
I’ve been watching the trailers and analyzing the pictures we already know once more for the last few days because something started to buzz in my head (No, it was no spider-sense, wish it was though…*sigh*) and finally today I figured out why that buzz was bothering me.
You see, we’ve been having all kinds of hints and teases about every Spidey character there is to know about, but not the one of which I am almost positively sure will IN FACT appear in the movie.

I’m talking about none other than… Miles Warren a.k.a The Jackal

‘But why the Jackal?’ you may ask, well as I mentioned before I started watching everything once again, and there was a piece in the puzzle that was missing, one name that had no mention in the Spidey related sites, but at the same time, was highly commented about, I’m talking about Insert ‘The Gentleman .

Here go the reasons:
For starters, in the trailers of TASM 2, we have a glimpse of this Gentleman character. We see him walking next to the Vulture wings and Ocks Tentacles, with the hat and large coat, so that obviously leaves out Norman because he is in bed dying and extremely weak.

But what immediately caught my attention was the phrase ’We have plans for you Peter Parker’. If you listen closely, that’s clearly NOT Chris Cooper’s voice, it sounds a bit more rusty.
So why would this fellow have plans for him?
I’m assuming that a younger version of Miles gets in a fight with Richard Parker about DNA Crosspecies, and cloning experiments. Richard knowing that Miles is up to no good and wants to experiment at any cost decides to hide his research in no other place than his own son, and tapes his confession to Pete in that underground lair we get to see in the trailer but not before sacrificing himself in the plane so that his secrets go with him. Miles somehow finds out about this (not the lair), and targets Peter for cloning experiments, hence the surveillance, and he’ll try to get close to him,

And just TODAY, I decided to take a peek at The Daily Bugle and you won’t believe what I found.

This just came out of the oven.

It’s either a sign of the times or a sign of the apocalypse…
Manhattan’s Empire State University announced a new class for the 2014 fall semester in advanced biogenetics that will actually require the successful cloning of a living creature. Introduction to Live Cloning, taught by noted geneticist Professor Miles Warren, is the first class of its kind anywhere in the world.
When asked about the ethical aspects of teaching a class on how to clone living cells, Warren said, “Our responsibility is to educate our students and prepare them for life. For those who study genetics or biology, cloning will be a fact of life.”
The ethical aspects of cloning are irrelevant to Warren, who added, “We are cloning single-celled amoeba. Maybe one day we’ll work our way up to mice. There is no ethical dilemma. Save your red flag for when I start cloning co-eds…”

Knowing that Miles has a Ph.D in Biochemistry I decided to search for clues and found this.

It may be something, it may be nothing, but it’s there for a reason, and everything that goes with BIO goes along with DNA.

One more thing, Miles is in love and obsessed with Gwen, so it wouldn’t be a shock if she days, just to come back out of the blue with no memory of what happened to her on the next installment… but I’m not sure they are going that road.

Share your conclusions, and if I’m mistaken please be sure to let it know.
Thanks!

I think that Peter IS a clone and that's why he was capable of absorbing the abilities of the Spider. The end movie will be Peter vs the Sinister Six which will be controlled by the Jackal. Peter will meet the true "him" (who is by now in his mid to late forties) and the two will take down Jackal. The original Peter will sacrifice himself and Peter will stay Spider-Man. (My Theory). It'd be cool if this is true and the man he was cloned from was named David Kaine or something like that. Or maybe Peter is a clone of the Jackal himself which is likely but would piss some fans off.

@Praetorian If your theory is correct...well than this franchises sure would have lot of balls. I would probably like it, at least then we would get an actual "untold stroy". Jackal could force Peter to become kinda of Superior Spiderman type of character via mind control.

My theory is that it's Otto, he's wearing the trench coat and hat (the 2nd most iconic Otto appearance) and he's walking past the Octo-arms.

Maybe Andrew Garfield is really Ben Reilly and we'll see Toby Maguire return as the real Peter Parker in Amazing Spiderman 4 or 5.

Good theory and interesting speculation.

I think that the man in the shadows could be Peter Parker's father.

@JorEllinator - yup. My theory exactly. Its probably Otto and he is going to bring together all of (whats going to be) the sinister 6. Peter will fight them off, only to find out that Norman is behind all of it --> leading to the 3rd film.

@Mighty Not quite sure they're going to use that, since he's been long gone. Why would he come back JUST NOW?
I strongly believe it's going to be Jackal lol
Or Ock.
