Another AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Scene Description Reveals A Potentially Major Spoiler

A description of a scene which takes place between Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) and Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) not only gives us an idea of the type of humour we'll see in the movie but also a potentially big plot spoiler.

In another brief excerpt from Empire Magazine's fantastic report on The Amazing Spider-Man, we have yet another scene description this time giving us a better idea of the tone that the movie will have in terms of humour. A potentially major spoiler is also revealed. However, for even more details on the movie and exclusive interviews with director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, be sure to pick up the issue when it goes on sale next week.

Webb agonises for a second ("I don't want to blow my wad here"), then concedes and cues up a cute, winsome cladestine encounter between Peter and Gwen that includes some rat-a-tat dialogue that wouldn't be out of place in a screwball comedy. "You should see the other guy," sighs Parker. "The other guy in this case being a giant mutant lizard."

Of course, it's worth noting that we've already seen an official still from the movie (above) where Gwen is attending to Peter's wounds. Whether she believes them to be the result of an attack he was involved is unclear, although the dialogue above does indicate that she may know he's Spider-Man and the scene takes place AFTER a fight between the iconic Marvel superhero and Rhys Ifans' villainous Lizard. Sound off with your thoughts on all of this in the usual place.

STARRING:

Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors/The Lizard
Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben
Sally Fields as Aunt May
Denis Leary as George Stacy

RELEASE DATE: July 3rd, 2012.

As things are revealed I get more into this movie and less into The Avengers.This seems deeper than the latter.Don't get me wrong,I enjoy silly action pics,but I rewatch movies that have some meat on the bones.

@Breakthecode

-Spider-man is about love and loss. Because of the love in his life we identify with him more. The stakes are raised on an emotional level. Besides, he needs someone to confide in.

-I let the suit slide, because I know that if this one does fantastic... we'll see an alteration.

-Yes this is an origin movie, but Parkers parents tie into this more. I bet we may see venom again seeing as how his father in the ultimate universe created the symboite suit.

-Who is the Lizard was the lone villain? I bet that Osbourne is behind the shadows, seeing everything and controlling it to an extent.

-J. Jonah Jameson does not a Spider-man movie make. He was there for laughs. Nothing more.

I hope we see Lizard in the next trailer. They kinda have to if they want to generate interest. Especially after the new batman trailer because I know I'm gonna save my money to see that as many times as fiscally possible.

@BreakTheCode:
"-lizard does not have enough substance to be the lone villian"

Lizard is probably one of the many Spider-Man villains that have substance. Lost his arm, an accident regrow it goes bad, turns him into a monster while he himself is an innocent man. Killed his family while in Lizard form later on in the comics, etc. He's pretty much The Incredible Hulk, but instead turns into an evil humanoid lizard.
