In another brief excerpt from Empire Magazine's fantastic report on The Amazing Spider-Man, we have yet another scene description this time giving us a better idea of the tone that the movie will have in terms of humour. A potentially major spoiler is also revealed. However, for even more details on the movie and exclusive interviews with director Marc Webb and stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, be sure to pick up the issue when it goes on sale next week.
Webb agonises for a second ("I don't want to blow my wad here"), then concedes and cues up a cute, winsome cladestine encounter between Peter and Gwen that includes some rat-a-tat dialogue that wouldn't be out of place in a screwball comedy. "You should see the other guy," sighs Parker. "The other guy in this case being a giant mutant lizard."
Of course, it's worth noting that we've already seen an official still from the movie (above) where Gwen is attending to Peter's wounds. Whether she believes them to be the result of an
attack he was involved is unclear, although the dialogue above does indicate that she may know he's Spider-Man and the scene takes place AFTER a
fight between the iconic Marvel superhero and Rhys Ifans' villainous Lizard. Sound off with your thoughts on all of this in the usual place.
