The set pictures have revealed the shocking return of none other than Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy! Last time we saw him, he was murdered at the hands of The Lizard at the top of Oscorp Tower.

There are no details yet as to what his post-mortem role in the film will be, but based on the gruesome state we see Mr. Leary in, one can assume that we may be seeing him via hallucination brought by Peter's guilt over breaking the promise he made to Captain Stacy at the end of the first film.

What's your theory on Captain Stacy's shocking return? Comment below!

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter Parker hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter Parker when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Wish he'd lived and become sort of Spidey's Commissioner Gordon... And then killed him off. Would have had more impact I feel.

Kinda sucks that stuff like this gets leaked online. It doesnt hit you that hard when you watch the movie when you expect it.

Thats what happens when you leave the movie studio and take it to the streets, lol.

Thats awesome! Denis Leary is one of my favorite people ever, and even if he's chewed up and dead in a hallucination, its good to see him.

Or maybe the film is going the Marvel Zombies route, that'd be a nice twist.

Flashback with extra material, maybe we actually see the moment when Peter says: "Screw you, dying man who gave his life for me. My hormones are more important than safety of your daughter's life."

If done right, The Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America will be Marvel's best trilogies for a long time. Especially if they keep Webb for Spider-Man 3. This scene with Dennis Leary should stay in the final cut. Even though, I would hate to admit it if this tops the first one cause I have always pictured the Spider-Man film with, The Lizard as the villain to be the best. In my opinion, I was correct but I will be happy and upset if this movie tops it. Ah well, TASM and Captain America for Marvel's best solo hero trilogies! TASM, Cap and Avengers to be Marvel's best trilogies ever.

VenomSpawnRises: I think it's Marvel Studios' best solo movie yet.

MarvelWeiner: Not only do I not like Star Wars but, I'm not really a DC fan either. Therefore, there is absolutely no relation to me and Levi what so ever.

Did anyone consider Chameleon? I doubt it being that the scene is probably a dream sequence but it opens up to a possibility for part III.
