Last Saturday I presented you, my fellow CBMers with what I thought would be the closest match up so far in my weekly VS battles. It didn't turn out that way. Batman took a commanding early lead in the voting and poor little Spider-Man never even began to make up any ground. With over 2,800 votes it seems like this match up was one in which everyone wanted their vote to count.

I give you the results.

No way in hell he'd win. Spider-sense + spider reflexes + spider speed + spider strength, even Batman's martial arts skills are no match. Sure, he could land one lucky hit that could take Spidey out but statistically speaking, on paper he'd lose. How the [frick] can a regular human win against an opponent that sticks to walls and bounces around like a freakin' superball yet can lift garbage trucks and web you breathless in a blink??? He sure could tare Cap a new one since even though they both have the same physical peek and acrobatic skills, his martial arts skills and ninja gadjets are aces Cap doesn't have. But Spidey overpowers Bats, hands down.

its because everyone sticks to the whole "Batman never loses" thing.

These fight polls are cool, but only when the people voting know a little about comics and the characters. i've found that a lot of people on this site don't really know dick about the comics. and when you have a bunch of people like that, then you get ridiculous outcomes.

think of it like this: Bruce Wayne is in a club and Peter Parker steps on his new, shiny white shoes. Bruce Wayne gets pissed and they decide to throw down. There's not a chance in hell Bruce would win. And if they were in costume, his silly gadgets wouldn't be much help either. and this is coming from someone that likes Batman more than Spidey.

in a straight fight where neither has time to prepare, Spidey beats batman every time.

Shaman: I'm with you bud. Not only did I vote Spidey but it seems that 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 4 comments argued that Batman wouldn't stand a chance of ever beating Spidey. It didn't help, Batman distance himself in the voting the entire time.

For someone to overcome the speed advantage that would exist between these two heroes, that person would have to be vastly stronger than the speedy one. He would have to be able to take everything the other could dish out until he could land the knockout blow. Batman could not do that with Spidey due to the fact that Spidey is not only stronger but can withstand a hellofalot more punishment than Bats can dish out. No contest IMO.

LOL! I wrote this before you added to your comments. Great minds.

I was originally going to do Bats VS Cap but I started thinking that the Bat fans would not even let it be interesting. So I went with Spidey under the assumption that it would be a closer outcome. It didn't help.

Really, guys? We're talking about a guy who's brought down Superman again and again. Hell, he even got a freakin punch on Darkseid. You really think he couldn't get the upper-hand in a match with Spidey? If he was caught off guard, he might take a bit of a lickin, but he'd come out on top (that's what she said). We're not talking about Bruce Wayne without his gadgets and resources. That's like saying lets have GL fight without is ring against Cap before the super serum... boring.

only someone who hates batman would vote for spidey. it would be a massacre of epic proportions. spiderman could bounce around for hours cracking jokes and the min he tried to fight batman would mop the floor with him.

Batman's only 'super' powers are his money, gadgets, and intelligence.

You should have picked a similar Marvel character like... Iron Man.

OMFG!!! HOW did Batman get more votes? That's impossible!

Spiderman would win. It might not be an easy win, but Spiderman's powers put him in a whole other class

thunderforce: This is the fourth POLL. GL defeated Deadpool. Thor defeated GL. Superman defeated Thor. Now Batman defeats Spider-Man.

Even though I voted Thor instead of Superman, I can understand the arguement that Sups would win. I could honestly see that one going either way. This is the first one that I disagree with but the outcome is the outcome. In this POLL at least, Bats whooped up on Spidey.

BTW.. I am not a huge fan of either Spider-Man or Batman. I like them both ok. I grew up reading X Men, Daredevil, and horror comics.

I would not have picked Spidey if not for the fact that it's just plain logical.

I mean seriously, what's next? Thanos vs Green Arrow? Superman vs Rocket Racoon? Captain Marvel vs. Robin?

No offense, HBE. It's just that the two are mismatched. Good opponents for Batman would be guys like Captain America, Black Panther, Daredevil, Moon Knight, etc

The funniest thing I hear from Batman fans is this.

"Batman will find a way to beat Spidey."

Well HOW long would that take? HOW many fights with Spidey would that take? How many times of getting his ass beat by Spidey would that take?

By the time Batman finally DOES get the upperhand, Spidey would have accomplished a 20-1 win ratio. How is the hell is that possibly a victory for Bats? And even after Spidey gets his licking, he'll just come back realizing his mistake and beat the snot out of Bats. Spider-Man wins.

Juggernaut: If you read my previous comment you'll see that I agree with you. I was going to make this a Cap VS Bats POLL but changed it because I know how Bat fans think he can defeat everyone and their brother. I purposely outclassed him ( in my opinion ) in order to see how close it would be. As you can see, it wasn't anywhere near close.

Cap, Daredevil and Black Panther are perfect matchups for Batman. According to these results, it doesn't look like there is much sense in pitting them against each other in a poll, does it?

Yeah I totally see what you mean. Batman would come out on top every time simply because he's more popular. Man. people need to set their crappy bias aside when they vote in these polls. Remember that one a while back that was Namor vs. Aquaman? And Aquaman actually WON!! That's insane. Another dramatic example.

There is a reason why boxing matches go for 12 rounds with a minute break in between the rounds. Rounds last only 3 minutes. Why? Because boxing is a physically exerting sport and without a break, the boxers would tire very quickly. Lactic acid would build up in the muscles. IF Batman is going to defeat Spiderman, he is not going to do it quickly. Spiderman, with his powers, would outlast Batman. Witha build up of lactic acid in Batman's muscles, it would make it very difficult for Batman to keep up the fight without physcially over exerting himself. In conclusion, Spiderman would win.

You DC fanboys watch out. There is going to be a backlash some day against this Batman always wins mentality. People turned against Wolverine, and they'll turn against Batman, too. I hope it happens because of the Captain America movie. (Now there's a fella not to be messed with.) Seriously, Batman beats Spider-man without a few days prep time? Batman hardly ever even fights super-powered foes by himself.

Im a fan of supes and bats,but where's no way in the world Batman could beat Spiderman, sure he took out supes but thats cuz he has an END all weakness, Spidey on the other hand, not so much, tho this poll says that bats would win, its certainly far far from the truth

Bruce Wayne & Tony Stark =

1) No real super powers

2) Extremely wealthy heads of corporations

3) Use their high intelligence to both create gadgets to fight crime, and to outwit their opponents.

I think you are the most insightful person I've ever known...

I don't get people saying "oh yeah sure, spiderman would win a bunch of times, but eventually batman would win, so thus batman wins..." batmans already lost, a bunch of times.

the suggestion that batman can beat spider-man is frigging ridiculous.

spider-man is faster
spider-man is stronger
spider-man has greater agility
spider-man has greater dexterity
spider-man has his webbing
spider-man senses danger

so how in the frigging heck can batman beat spider-man?!
give a break. batman was broken in two by bane, spider-man would beat bane in two seconds flat.
even if batman built traps spider-man would sense them.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but Bats beat Killer Croc all the time, and he is the same power level/abilities that Spidey has. And Killer Croc has enhanced reflexes, healing factor (of sorts), etc. Batman would find a way to win no matter what. Hands down the winner is Batman.
