SINISTER SIX Still In Development; SPIDER-MAN Expected To Appear In CIVIL WAR

So, we now know that Spider-Man will appear in a Marvel Studios movie before his own solo outing in 2017, but which one? Captain America: Civil War according to a new report, and for those of you thinking Sinister Six is dead, we also have a very interesting update on that...

The Wall Street Journal has some very interesting details about the Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures Spider-Man deal, and they reveal that it was still dead as of December. Obviously that rumoured "Spidey Summit" in January changed things, and Marvel will now have to scramble to make some changes to Captain America: Civil War as the site has heard from their studio insiders that it is indeed the movie which Spider-Man will first appear in (which was obvious, but not guaranteed at such a late stage). As for Sinister Six, they add that while it will no longer be released next November, "The studio will rethink its approach to the film, which remains in development, in light of the new agreement with Marvel." It was clear in those leaked emails that Amy Pascal was keen on making that one happen, and you have to wonder now if it will somehow be reworked into being that 2017 Spider-Man movie. Spider-Man: Sinister Six anyone? Marvel do have a relationship with Drew Goddard after Daredevil. In other news, an official Spidey Twitter account has launched!

So Sinister Six is still in development.

Which means TASM may be canon to the MCU.

Yet we have two tweets saying Andrew is not Spider-Man.

And we have Marvel saying they'll introduce Spidey into the MCU in another film and Sony will continue with on July 28, 2017.

Im so [frick]ing confused right now.

Uuuhhh, Sinister Six was just confirmed as canceled, but under "consideration". Just go look on the Twatter.

They said "new Spidey" like, twice in the press release.

But Marvel said they would bring the franchise into a new direction. Which means reboot. THIS DOESNT MAKE SENSE!!

I don't think Sinister Six will get made.

It's way too early to tell, and there's way too many questions to be answered: will the new Spidey be a total reboot or a soft reboot of sorts? Will the Spidey solo movie still be called "The Amazing Spider-Man 3", or will it be "Marvel-fied" into just "Spider-Man"? If it's a complete and total reboot, will Sinister Six somehow be folded into that?

Hell, I doubt Sony even knows at this point. The next few days are gonna be ridiculously exciting, that's for sure.

That's confusing. Maybe this Sinister Six will the the real Sinister Six. Not the shitty Ultimate Sinister Six that was going to be created from TASM.

I do hope Marvel knows what it is doing. Their lineup made perfect sense before and I don't want to see the MCU be a cluster[frick] in an attempt to shoehorn Spidey in. Civil War is going to have so many players already, where could Spidey even possibly fit in??

What I said

"Guys, something tells me he'll be in Civil War.Back when the rumors surfaced I always stated that marvel wouldn't be going so hard for spidery if they didn't have a plan for him in the first place. I'm sure the Russos had a Spiderman draft as well. Trust me, marvel has been planning this for months. That movie that Spiderman will cameo in will be "Civil War""

Drew Goddard for Spider-Man reboot. It's PENANCE for dropping out of THE MARTIAN and the DAREDEVIL Netflix series.
SnapperCarr
SnapperCarr - 2/9/2015, 10:12 PM
And maybe we'll get an end credits scene at Avengers Age of Ultron of Spidey swinging around or maybe even getting bitten.

Nbody cares about Sinister Six as a solo film. Cancel it, reboot Spider-Man, and there they have tabula rasa to do whatever they want.

Wouldn't be surprised if marvel has known this possibility since November and told the Russo to prepare for it. That's when the discussions were happening.
