Spider-Man 2, said to be one of the best Marvel superhero sequels ever. To be honest, I haven’t watched the second film in theatres, but I remembered the merchandising. But let’s not get carried away or we’ll end up eating a dead octopus.

This sequel is really good and I loved it. It has better storyline, a new villain and a struggle for Peter losing his powers. We also see Dr.Connors for the first time. The new villain we have is Doctor Octopus and he is played by Alfred Molina. Although, I love his performance and it was great and he looks about right like from the comics. But the jacket and sunglasses Doc Ock used to be like this in the comics. His only plan is to finish what he started and he wants no one to interrupt his plan.

Mary Jane is dating John Jameson who is a son of J.Jonah Jameson. Peter starts to live in an apartment where he has to pay rent to Mr.Ditkowitch. The reason I’m saying this is because the names has something to do with Steve DITKO, the creator of Spider-Man. Now with the performances. Tobey delivers Spider-Man and Peter Parker great again. He may has less sense of humor, but has the moments that were memorable from the comics. Like Peter leaving the suit on the trash. *FACT: That ACTUALLY happened in the comics*
Comics:

Movie:

Dunst now gives a great performance as Mary Jane and she says the nickname she usually calls him: Tiger.

Alfred Molina has made Doc Ock a cool villain in the Spider-Man universe. He also “talks” to his tentacles for whatever reason, but the design of Doctor Octopus was really modern.
Harry Osborn played by James Franco is better and he is now desperate to avenge his father’s death. And that means a sequel!!! J.K Simmons is funny yet again as he comes back as J.Jonah Jameson. And before you ask, yes. He created the meme called “AAAAAAAAAWWWWW YYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAA”. Don't believe me? Here's the proof:

The shots still had the Sam Raimi shots where the props are close. There are also the resemblances from his other movies like the time Doc Ock killed all the doctors at the hospital…or are they actually dead. The fight on the train is probably my favourite fight scene in Spider-Man history. I love how one of Jameson's partners mentioned Dr.Strange, even though he might be owned by Paramount Pictures. The music is bad-ass, but there are music’s that were different and I heard the rejected scores for this film. I gotta say that Elfman’s rejected scores are better than the ones in the movie. And Spider-Man 2.1…better. It even had JJJ wearing the Spider-Man suit!

I loved this scene and I start to imagine myself doing this alone! But the problem of this version of the movie, is the film looks like blue. I mean coloured blue! Not purple or anything like that, blue! I don’t hate this version, but it only has one flaw. The effects are improved and were looking better than the first movie. So out of all, the story is really good, the effects were cooler, the music is average, but the performance was incredible!

Overall: 4/5

I love this movie. This is improved, but I can’t say it the best Spider-Man movie yet.

Look out on July 3rd for the review for The Amazing Spider-Man.
