While The Amazing Spider-Man 2 doesn't swing into theatres until May 2014, or April 2014 for the lucky British, it seems that Sony are set on making the film their biggest Spidey film to date as markting for the film has already begun. Thanks to Tumblr, we have our first look at the official logo for the upcoming summer blockbuster. We also get a better look at the spider worn on Spidey's suit in the bottom corner.

For Peter Parker, life is busy. Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy, high school graduation cannot come quickly enough. Peter has not forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away, but that is a promise he cannot keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

I cannot believe that they have screwed up Electro that bad with this blue look...

It is very clear that this is heading into Batman Robin movie territory now...

What was bloody wrong with his original look...

Surely they could of got that right and made it work...

I am dreading the look for Rhino now for sure...

@AUSASS, there is no way to make the original suit without looking silly. By the way, have you ever read the ultimate spider-man comics before?

Best Spiderman costume :)

AUSASS Considering you have never read a ultimate Spider-Man comic book (if any comic book at all) I suggest you goggle "Ultimate Spider-Man: Electro." You'll find that that's the look they're going for.
Lindsey35
Lindsey35 - 7/13/2013, 8:22 AM
And that Electro that you say it must look like (and I'm sure if they did go with that look, you'd still moan and complain because you want your wittle Toby back) it would look HORRIBLE. TASM2's Electro looks scary and badass.

This film series really isn't based of the Ultimate comics truly. Also Electro in the Ultimate had just a jacket.

Electro looks badass but the look of him is the skin and powers of Ultimate and the design of 616 a bit.

Damn I forgot about Spectacular Spidey Soto. I did notice some green and yellow a bit in Electro's suit.

Lindsey35 - 7/13/2013, 9:33 AM
Come on guys! There are a bunch of times where Electro turns completely blue (and nude hahaha x) )

BTW didn't mean to be rude about the Toby comment, I just know some people dislike TASM series because they like the Toby movies better, which isn't fair (you know it's true). Sorry if i was offensive to those who like both? I have much respect for all Spidey movies (it's spidey for crying out loud!)

I feel like, by making his skin blue, they are trying to give it a comic book feel, which i think is good.
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 7/13/2013, 10:17 AM
Yes because Gwen was his first love in Ultimate and I don't remember him wrestling anything.

Raimi's Spider-Man was the Ultimate universe in the tone of the 616

Webb's Spidey is the 616 universe in the tone of the Ultimate.

Levitikuz

I guess you can call it "combining" various story-lines and or "tones" as you like to call it. It always seems to work ;) It has for the passed ten years.

@Cap1 We already had one Spiderman-movie series with numbering, subtitle would be nice chance, or maybe something like "Web of Spiderman" or "Spectacular Spiderman". Besides names like Iron Man 2 are still keeping it short and simple.
Lindsey35
Lindsey35 - 7/13/2013, 10:35 AM
Just something to nit-pick about, I guess...
FreedomFreeLife
FreedomFreeLife - 7/13/2013, 11:02 AM
"Web of Spiderman" or "Spectacular Spiderman"
This would be too damn confusing for people. Think about countries outside US or UK, names would be even harder to tell.

Off topic but, who remembers Spider-Man 1's Flash Thompson? He was a jerk but didn't really feel like the Flash we all know and love. The thing I liked about TASM's Flash was that he was REALLY aggressive and mean. I think he may get a Venom spin-off. Because he had a military voice and rage. Who agrees?
