Why "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has to be the new "Spider-Man 2"?

Why "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has to be the new "Spider-Man 2"?

The fans want to see not a copy, but a very similar movie; a fantastic and well guided movie.

Spider-Man 2 was the perfect Spider-Man movie, with all that the hero needs. Fantastic scenes, good villain, good screenplay, fantastic music, and computer graphics more than adequate for the time. And no wonder that the film won an Oscars.

Amazing Spider-Man 2, has all to be the new Spider-Man 2. Good music (Hans Zimmer quoted to compose the Soundtrack), good actors (Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and who knows, Jim Carrey ?), good villain (Electro) and with the trailer that we saw in SDCC this year (yeah i know, it's very early yet) the film seems to have good action scenes.

So what is missing ?

Yeah, the director. Sam Raimi made the Spider-Man that we all wanted to see
(even changing some things from the comics), choosing some stories of comics, like "Spider-Man No More" to be in his movie.

The writing team and director Marc Webb, from "The Amazing Spider-Man" (even using some elements from the first years of Peter Parker as Spider-Man in the comics)don't used much comics as a base, using the story of the parents of Peter as the main plot, which was never really explored in comics.

But, we all are hoping that in this new movie, we will see a huge Spider-Man movie, like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (1 and 2). I want Marc Webb to use more intelligent stories from the comics, and to use more the Uncle Ben (which is the main influencer in Peter, and not his parents).

Well, that's it. Thanks for reading . Follow CBM on Twitter.

WRITER's NOTE :

Well,It's my opinion. Thanks a lot for reading this, cause it was my first text.
I was reading the comments, and there we go :
Nobody agree , that Sam Raimi's Spider-Man was so much better than the skateboarder Peter ? And what you tell me about the "Scientist Gwen" ? That things are in comics ? I Know people has many different opinions, and i respect that, Spider-Man TO MEE was the "perfect" Spider-Man movie, and i wanted to tell this, tell my worry about TASM 2 not be an good movie.

Again, Thanks for reading this.

Spider-Man 2 is by far my least favourite Spider-Man movie. I hope the new one is nothing like it at all.

He has a chance to do it but one of the main attractions of SM2 was the inclusion of Doc Ock. Doc Ock is spider mans arch nemesis IMO. When they started making Spiderman movies he was the one I was looking forward to seeing the most and they didn’t disappoint. That movie still has one of the best fight scenes in comic book movie history. Im glad that they aren’t repeating the villain because peter has arguably the greatest rogue gallery in comics (Batman also) but that was part of the charm.

Think about it we’ve seen: Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Venom, Goblin Jr, Lizard and will see Electro and Rhino. They have yet to use: Carnage, Vulture, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Black Cat, Chameleon, Kraven, Morbius, Scorpion, Shocker, Grey Gargoyle, Hammerhead, Kingpin etc. He can make 20 movies and not have the same villain twice.

I liked SM2, but the first film was the best one in my mind. It's tied with Iron Man and Avengers for my favorite CBM ever.

Ok this may suprise people. When Spider-Man 02 came out, I didn't care for it. Why? Well I was a 9 year old kid who was addicted to Star Wars. Episode 2 came that year and as a kid I loved it.

Now I wasn't expose or really cared about Marvel until 03. Hulk came. I also saw Daredevil and X2 and loved them.

I first saw a Spidey film in 04. Spider-Man 2. My Uncle took my mom, my little bro, and I. I [frick]ing loved it.

TASM2 could be that. Not many people gave a shit about TASM. Why? Because its a reboot and the 2 monsters in TDKR and Avengers.

This year Spidey could take over but I have my doubts.

Spider-man needs to get a thrill out of saving people, that's what it boils down to. Which is exactly why him unintentionally killing Gwen should have a huge impact, because he did it to save her. Spider-man killed her.

Spider-Man lost his powers due to stress. When you get too stressed, your body shuts down. That's how and why he lost his powers. It's a real medical condition.
Odin
Odin - 8/11/2013, 1:51 PM
@LEVITIKUZ I think it wasn't just because of stress. The first trouble with powers was just the radiation mutation readjusting. After that he starred to think it was because of the stress; causing that, in order feel better and have normal(stress free)life, he subconsciously shutted the powers down himself. That would explain why the powers returned at exact right moment; moment of true need.

It's just amazing to me how much the first film would have been elevated with a few of the deleted scenes thrown back in. The conversation between Peter and Connors in the sewers about giving up power was great.

On the losing his powers issue in Spider-man 2 (it's not an issue, people just want something to "complain" about)....

I'm a pretty even-tempered kind of guy. I work as an assistant manager at McDonald's. I'm the guy who handles the customer complaints directly, and is expected to smile, apologize, and replace the order in no time flat. Ok.

So based on real life experience, I have an incident, break an ankle, and I'm in a 8/10 amount of pain, and operating on adrenaline. I'm a peach though, really. Like they'd probably never seen a guy come in with a broken ankle who was so polite.

But that's because I was channeling my frustration and pain. And sure enough, as soon as they painfully set my ankle into a splint and send me home - I start breathing normally. Normally, meaning, I turn into this huge asshole, don't want to be around anyone, and pass out.

So taking that into account - how does Peter handle the stress and pain? He can't tell anyone he's Spider-man, especially with his best friend thinking he'd have killed his father... and being Spider-man is alienating EVERYONE in his life. He even tries taking pictures of something else because he just DOESN'T want to be Spider-man all the time. Then BOOM. Harry slaps him around drunk, his Aunt is ashamed at his confession, MJ not only told him how much a disappointment he was - but also had a big announcement made that she was getting married to some other guy. And he had to take a picture of it.

That's when the kid gloves come off, and he'd start acting like a dick, unable to take it all anymore. Except his brain and body focused the stress into the single idea that Spider-man was the one doing this, and by that, his powers. They were the reason he was at the wrestling match, the reason why Norman accidentally killed himself, the reason why his grades have been steadily falling, the reason why he has no social life, the reason why he can't catch a break.

His body said: "Spider-man, go to sleep."

It's that simple.
-

As for it not contributing anything.... how did we arrive at that conclusion? It's the big shutdown. It's like someone's wife leaving her husband because he's never there. It's past the point of being an ultimatum - he now HAS to do something about it, no choice involved.

@Tainted sorry about your ankle dude hope you heal with the speed of Wade Wilson himself.

Anyway my only complaint about the Amazing Spiderman series so far is the non inclusion of J.J.J. he’s essential to the mythos of Spiderman. Even if they just had him on the big screen of times square like in Ultimate Spiderman cartoon that would work. BTW Thats who I think Jim Carrey is playing J.J.J.

My biggest problem with SM1 was killing Green Goblin, making it clear it was either going to be a one off or trilogy if it worked. Other than that, I was thrilled with the first movie.

SM2 was great, though they started the "understand the villain's point of view" arc. But regardless, it was still great.

SM3 is borderline unwatchable for me anymore, mainly because of Mary Jane's whining. Topher Grace was wrong for Venom, and Sandman's story continued the "pity the villain" angle, but Mary Jane's constant "what about me?" dribble was just too annoying.

As for ASM1, I enjoyed it thoroughly. It wasn't perfect, but at least it got it right that Gwen Stacy was Parker's first true love, not Mary Jane. And I like where they're going with ASM2, possibly setting up a Sinister Six showdown in ASM3.

Like someone else pointed out, Spider-Man has a huge rogues gallery of characters to pull from, so use them, because CBMs don't have to be trilogies only, they can be long term runs similar to James Bond, for crying out loud!

New actor? No problem. We get "new artist" interpretations of our favorite characters every year almost, right? What matters are the stories and the villains our heroes go up against--that's the meat and potatoes of what we want to see. And at some point, I want to see Spidey go up against the Vulture!

But that's just me.

What??? That's just not true...his Spiderman movies were decent but there were a lot of problems story wise etc.

As for the pic...I think it will be just fast scene [like a tribute] which will last less than a minute...and not 5 minute long train stop. [still train fight is one of the best superhero fight scenes]

@2Challa

Ock was lame in Spidey2...fights were great and all but they shouldn't chnage spidey's "nemesis" into another likeable character that is controlled and that's why he does bad things...that was the worst...also MJ was always the reason spidey fought...not other people not responsibility...just MJ.

TASM uses the comics WAY more. They had conners actually become the lizard, they had peter use web shooters, they had gwen as the girl. Which one of these did the original use? Also spiderman losing his powers? Great movie but don't say it stuck more to the comics. Also TASM was a good movie, this one has potential to be great. The first one made more than MOS has in a year were we where almost comic movied out (With the Avengers AND TDKR).

"spider-Man 2 was the perfect Spider-Man movie, with all that the hero needs." - NO

"Fantastic scenes, good villain, good screenplay, fantastic music, and computer graphics more than adequate for the time." - NOPE. SCREENPLAY WAS HORRIBLE.

".And no wonder that the film won an Oscars." OSCARS? IT WON ONLY 1 OSCAR AND FOR CGI, NOT MOVIE.

"Yeah, the director. Sam Raimi made the Spider-Man that we all wanted to see" - WE ALL WANTED TO SEE??? MOST PEOPLE DONSENT EVEN LIKE SAM RAIMI SPIDER-MAN

"The writing team and director Marc Webb, from "The Amazing Spider-Man" (even using some elements from the first years of Peter Parker as Spider-Man in the comics)don't used much comics as a base" - BULLSHIT. TASM IS CLOSER TO COMICS THAN SAM RAIMI ANYTHING EVER DONE WITH 3 MOVIES.

So you think no one gave a shit about TASM? Considering the other 2 CBMs that summer grossed a billion and it is the lowest grossed Spider-Man movie.

Tainted87

Bingo.

Masterpace

TASM gave us a Spidey that only comes out at night.

VIRILEMAN

You like TASM but hate Spidey 2 and The Dark Knight Rises. That speaks volumes.

Tobey ain't fat, that's muscle. Garfield wouldn't know what muscle is since he's skinny as shit.

Spider-man had the sewer scene in the day, Also had the school scene hunted blonde haired crooks in the day time. Andrew Garfield is ripped. Yes but I was Simply saying it was closer to the comics.
