SUICIDE SQUAD Director David Ayer Reveals A Twisted Deleted Scene Featuring Jared Leto's Joker

It's beginning to feel like filmmaker David Ayer is attempting to help #ReleaseTheAyerCut gain some momentum, as he's revealed a twisted, R-Rated scene featuring The Joker that was cut from his film!

There has always been a vocal minority of fans who want Warner Bros. to #ReleaseTheAyerCut of Suicide Squad, but after the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement resulted in the news that Zack Snyder's Justice League is hitting HBO Max in 2021, the campaign is gaining momentum.

We've learned a great deal about filmmaker David Ayer's original Suicide Squad plans this year, including a scrapped role for Steppenwolf and the Parademons, romance for Harley Quinn and Deadshot, and most of Jared Leto's Joker scenes being left on the cutting room floor back in 2016.

Talking about the latter on Twitter, Ayer revealed yesterday that one twisted sequence revolving around the Harlequin of Hate would have seen him talk Common's Tattoo Man into killing himself.

He doesn't elaborate on the scene, but given the choice between a terrible death at the hands of Mr. J or blowing his brains out, it seems the obscure comic book villain knew which route was best to take. Unfortunately, studio mandated changes meant R-Rated sequences like that were scrapped.

Will HBO Max one day #ReleaseTheAyerCut? Stranger things have happened, as we learned this week!

I mean..... cool? Whilst I’m sure all that was cut from this film would be interesting to see I’m sure the main problem was still that Ayer got like a week to write the thing

Let it die, Ayer. Just... let it die already.

@GothamSon - Someone asked him a question and he answered though. It's not like he's campaigning for the Ayer cut or anything. He's not like Zach. This is fine, just answering a fan

I was disappointed that scene wasn’t in the movie! My uncle was an extra in this movie and was in that scene, so I was looking forward to it. Oh well

The way that scene is cut together in the released version is awful.

You know, on one end I’m like “Let it go dude” bc I truly don’t care about subjecting myself to more of that atrocious movie, but on the other end, I hope this Snyder cut situation leads to some change in the industry. It’s becoming more apparent that the studios like to meddle with every part of the production(which is understandable, movies are big investments), and it takes away a filmmaker’s creative choices as an artist, many times leading to bad results.

I think the best example of this was Raimi’s Spider-Man 3

@Supes17 - you can't have a cinematic universe where everything connects if directors aren't willing to compromise

That actually sounds kind of cool, I mean there's no way it would save that scene, but it's good on paper.
Also, even the Doctor has talked his enemies into suicide:

Here's to some 7th Doctor appreciation, a vastly underrated Doctor.

He even had a literal cliffhanger:
