The Suicide Squad wrapped shooting back in February, and work is now continuing remotely on the DC Comics movie. We don't know what that means for reshoots (assuming the film needs them), but writer and director James Gunn has confirmed that the project remains on schedule "as of now."
With The Suicide Squad not set to be released until next August, it does seem unlikely that the COVID-19 pandemic will cause too many problems.
Even if Hollywood remains on shutdown until the end of 2020, Gunn will still have months to finish his film and any necessary additional photography. However, it will all depend on what actors are contracted to do, and whether they will be forced to work on other projects before returning for ADR and any other extra filming which is necessary to get The Suicide Squad ready.
We'll have to keep everything crossed, because with a jaw-dropping cast and the director behind Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at the helm, we NEED this movie!
