A rumor did the rounds recently which named Reed Morano as one of the directors on Warner Bros.' radar to helm the upcoming Supergirl movie, and while it doesn't appear that any official talks have taken place, it does sound like something that might happen down the line.

While chatting to THR about her new movie I Think We're Alone Now, Morano denied that she's been in contact with the studio in regards to the DC project, but admits that it could be something that she'd be interested in pursuing.

“I don’t know if it’s really a thing, [but] I like the idea of doing something new every time, so I don’t say no to any idea. I’m always thinking [how] I can bring something new to the table that still feels authentic to the story, not [doing something] just for the sake of doing something new. But if there’s a reason for me to do [Supergirl] in particular, then I would like to do it.”

Elle Fanning, who stars alongside Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage in Alone Now, says that she and Morano have been jokingly raising their arms in Supergirl's flying pose ever since they got wind of the rumor.

Perhaps the director wouldn't need to conduct too extensive a search for her Girl of Steel if she was to take the gig!

If I was Cavill I would be wanting to do a mentor movie and have it be a rom-com. Where they go on double date and then it’s suddenly interrupted by the villain. They have to team up to take him down so they can get back to their dates without them noticing they were gone. Laughter, love, action! This film has everything.

@Ronan3Accuser - Never use Rom-Com and Cavill in the same comment again please...but the villain should be the fathers of the dates and the movie should have Ben Aflack, Gal Godot, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, and the entire cast of the DCU. LMFAO! It just might make more than all the DCU films put together! I'll show myself out now.

I'm liking the idea of a Supergirl film, but wish that DC had followed MoS with MoS2, but with a Director other than Snyder.
Following the news that Cavill and Affleck leaving, I'm unsure about the DCEU, which is worse as I love MoS.

Well, It would be nice for Supergirl to find her own "Patty Jenkins", that's for sure.

We have to admit if DC does lock up Moreno they will have some extremely attractive female directors.
