Legendary Pictures have also slightly re-worded description for the movie.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world's beacon of hope - Superman.

Here's the previous version of the Synopsis:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
"Man of Steel" will be released to cinemas on June 14, 2013.

Man Of Steel is scheduled to hit cinemas June 14th, 2013.

I think by the end of the film Clarke should have come out of alienation, however the Superman persona would then naturally feel alienated. If four super powered aliens dressed in blue or black, began fighting and destroying the world, all four would be feared and hated.

Even though Superman comes up trumps, the only good he's done is defeat more of himself. That shouldn't settle the nerves of any one? Where is he from? What does he want? Are there more of them? Are they all bad, or is Superman genuinely good? Why is he here? Why are they infinitely more powerful? Even if Superman saved a bunch of people, the general public wouldn't have his insight, and so wouldn't remove Superman as part of the problem, and hold him as the solution.

I think, by the end the world should be divided, some embracing the unknown alien who just saved Earth from others like him. The rest, personified by Meloni's character in the first film, would be more suspicious of Superman's existence, presence and motives. If he is unknown, how can he be trusted?

Lex Luthor, in my opinion should assume that role for the second film, whereby he galvanizes a force to challenge Superman, but ultimately puts the entire world in danger, show casing to every one that it isn't what race you are, or species that makes you evil. The capacity lies in each and every individual, unconditionally. And so, by the end of the second film, everyone adores and praises Superman. HE IS THE BEACON OF HOPE!

And... In the third film, we get the Nolanesque end to a hero's tale, with the emergence of Doomsday, who brings with him a epic battle, and the death of both himself and Superman. And so just when Superman had won over the world, he's tragically taken from them in a massive finale. Making him a legend!

POW!

DC has only 2 proven characters that can make a big deal at the box office. Superman Returns failed - mainly, in my opinion - because the people who would have been out there buying tickets were over-familiar with the character due to Smallville. It was also dull, slow, and far too reliant on elements from the Christopher Reeve era films. If this version fails, DC needs to moth-ball the franchise for a few years and catch a fresh audience.

Oh hey I see the Nike logo now. Right on, they are now the new apparel producer of the NFL. If they are good enough to sponsor the NFL then they are good enough to sponsor Superman.

Most people see a Superman logo, some people see a Nike logo, I say let's embrace both.

I would rather sit and stare at that logo for two hours than watch Superman Returns.

The logo not sold on but wow, that was a powerful synopsis. Makes me want to see the movie. The logo though, just not so sure yet.

And if the Nike logo is there, run with it. Then Superman can have official Nike clothing.

Can someone remind me how Superman actually flies? And why his breath can be so cold? And how he can shoot lazers out of his eyes? I hope this movie answers those questions. I thought the only thing special about Superman was that his molecular compound was a lot more dense than earthlings.

As much as I appreciate a new take on Superman (despite I liked Returns) I'm really not sure about retelling his origin story again. I mean there can hardly be anyone on this planet who doesn't know it yet. So this might be an important aspect making people not go to see this film.
