Possible MAN OF STEEL Spoiler Reveals Key Detail About A Battle In Metropolis

In a report from last September which was somehow missed, a Chicago resident spotted a sign which potentially reveals a fairly major spoiler in regards to the fallout of some sort of battle in Metropolis.

Thanks to a heads up from Facebook's Superman: Man of Steel (2013), we have the following photo and report from an a visit to the Chicago set which was published way back in September 2011 but completely missed by us and seemingly every other major comic book movie news site! Here is an excerpt from the article, while the full version can be found by clicking on the link below.

But there’s some construction going on at a building on that block, and the above poster is on a wall facing where the movie was shooting. The logo of the actual construction company is on there, but I don’t know if the construction company or the production company is responsible for it. Either way, I love it, because it took someone’s attention for detail to create it. If you look closely at the bottom, the logos are for the "Daily Planet Reconstruction Fund," a couple of City of Metropolis agencies, the United Constructionists union, the "Metropolis Green Building Initiative," and the "Metropolis Transit Authority."

So, could this mean that The Daily Planet will be destroyed? (more than likely as a result of Superman's battle with Zod) It certainly sounds like it, but it alternatively could just be a fund that the newspaper contributes to and just a very detailed piece of set dressing! Regardless, the fact that "Metropolis Will Rise Again" hints at some sort of major destruction! Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

Actually the way the picture is, and how it's buildings leading to the sky, it kinda seems like a subtle (but kinda dumb) nod to TDKR.

the spoiler is that the Daily Planet, along with other buildings, will get either destroyed or damaged heavily during the battle.

Damn,2013. They have sooooo much time. Will they be able to start preproduction on the MOS sequel by the time this one hits in the summer? I'm needy and want a Braniac that leads to Doomsday MOS2 & MOS3 to be filmed back to back ala LOTR.

Could be a good way to intro Lex in a sequel or even post credit teaser. Major destruction in Metropolis, Lex moves to the city after funding all repairs, seen as a charitable philanthropists and is loved by all. Superman of course stumbles upon some dark secret and voila! Bestest enemies for life

@Greengo - As I said before if I was a WB execute I'd DEMAND a Cavill cameo in TDKR.

And I would say Illwill is a dick but since he's a kid I think it isn't appropriate.

And @tea, please be moderate on boobs while he's around, his parents might see it and sue you or the site.

Destruction after a fight between Supes and Zod that creates the need for some rebuilding? Say it ain't so. Seriously, this sounds like stretching out on a slow news day.

The only observation that I will share that may fall under spoilage is that the building looks like it has a shadow over it that looks uncannily like a Lexcorp "L" symbol.
