Russell Crowe Confirms Original Plan To Make MAN OF STEEL Sequels Before BATMAN v SUPERMAN Happened
Before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was rushed into production, it seems the plan was to make a Man of Steel trilogy. Hit the jump to hear what Jor-El himself had to say on the matter...
It's been said that Warner Bros. made the decision to move forward with Batman v Superman just days before it was announced at Comic-Con. Why they decided to jump straight to that is hard to say (it's already obvious that a slow burn approach to building their DC Films Universe would have been better), but the biggest casualty has ended up being any sort of sequel to 2013's Man of Steel.
Talking in an interview to promote The Nice Guys, Russell Crowe seemingly confirmed that a trilogy was indeed planned. "Originally — I could be completely wrong — I think there was a number of Superman movies. But I think they made the decision to jump past those and go to the idea of Batman and Superman in the same film. So, no, I didn’t have any discussions about that at all."
Whether or not we'll now get another Superman movie is unclear, though it seems somewhat unlikely. Are you disappointed that we got Batman v Superman instead of some Man of Steel sequels?
