Michael B. Jordan Addresses Rumors That WB Wants Him To Be The Next SUPERMAN

Is Henry Cavill truly done playing the Man of Steel? No one knows for sure at the moment. However, last fall, Deadline reported that WB had Michael B. Jordan high atop the list of potential replacements.

Last September, it was reported by Deadline that WB wanted Michael B. Jordan to be the next Superman.

"Yeah, that was a rumor, I heard that. I think just to be in those conversations, it's flattering," said Jordan while appearing on Oprah Winfrey's OWN talk show.

When asked if he 'would like to be Superman', Jordan responded, "It's tough. I hate being a businessman and understanding both sides of the situation. I think there's a huge upside to it but just being under that microscope and being picked apart and compared to so many different versions of Superman, I would rather do something original."

Before completely writing it off, Jordan said he'd be game to play a recent creation of Grant Morrison, Calvin Ellis; a black Superman from the parallel reality of Earth-23. With Sony currently riding the wave of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's acclaim and box office success, perhaps WB is taking notice?
