According to TVline.com, their is a new clue about who's returning to Smallville. We know Martha Kent is coming back, so this leads me to believe that the answer is Curtis Knox.

I can't imagine that we're getting a clone of superman before he's superman. They take liberties on this show but that would be huge. The blind item says that someone's coming back, so it can't be Connor Kent. I hope it's Cain, and that he reveals that he's Vandal Savage.

It's not Conner Kent, because it's a returning character, not a new character.

I'm hoping for Dean Cain, so he can bitch slap Tommy Boy and tell him to just put the damn suit on already. Maybe he can lend Tommy boy his old suit.

Thanks LP4, I think Tommy Boy would have to buff up a little to fit into Dean Cain's suit. I don't care how many things L&C got wrong (stupid villains, Lex with hair, H.G. Wells, etc.) Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher MADE that show. Best Clark Kent and Lois Lane ever!
