Is Smallville not staying true to the hype?

Okay, first off I have to say that I have followed the series from the beginning and just like the rest of you die hard fans have shared the ups and downs...

With that being said I was blown away by last seasons finale and this seasons opening with the image of Darkseid at the end of it, but from that point on we have not seen anything of him. Yes we have seen his minions and all, we heard of the darkness and all, but, we have not seen or heard anything else of him.

We are now just past the half way point of the season and the are so many loose ends for the writers and all to tie up that I do not feel that it can not be done. (I say that very optimistic) I fell that there is not enough time left for them to even bring in a full proper Darkseid story. Just look at what they did with Doomsday. He was the one that killed Superman in the comics. He was the bad A** of the time and I feel that they dropped the ball on that arch big time.

So in closing, I hope that the writers and all have an Ace up there sleeve and can pull all these loose ends off and give us true DIE HARD fans the ending to all the stories that are up in the air. Give us DARKSEID!!

Yeah i truely belive they have learnt ther lesson, with the season 10 premiere,''homecoming'',the superman mytho is starting to kick in,lex is back, hes gonna wear his glasses next week, and he said last night to martha that he think he should show his face,so maybe thats why hes wearing his specs...he may finally come out from the shadows, doomsday was a big FAIL and they know that, thats why they made season 9 amazing, with the zod fight n all,I wanted lex to come back to seal the worry that we wasnt going to have a good ending,my worries are over :)

well they couldn't show Doomsday in his full glory....because hes not Superman yet. same with any villain...they are all there as whats to come for his future, so don't expect him to be like the Darkside we know and love to hate......then again they might surprise us

Eh...This season kinda sorta is better than season 8, when I was watching season 8 I got this bad vibe...then the episode that shall not be named aired and yea we all know what happened after that...this season I like the whole lex storyline myself yea a sprinkle of darkseid is in it but if they would drop the darkness crap and just went with lex then we would have a much more better season not saying this season isn't bad but it's aight better than season 8. hey every show got's it's ups and downs.

Really that coming from a guy with an Xmen first class picture, most likely the shitiest marvel movie made by fox yet, till it gets dethroned by Wolverine origins 2?

I think smallville should just stay away from this site, just because the haters spoil it for everyone else, its an article for the people who like it,not to get shitty comments underneath it from people who hate it

To all of you who don't like us "haters", bite me. Please excuse us if we voice our disappointment at this show crapping all over our favorite superhero. I didn't realize that this site was only for people who are content with mediocre writing, bad acting, and lame ass stories. Some of us expected more, especially from this season considering that the writers promised us last summer that they were pulling out all the stops and giving season 10 everything including the kitchen sink (those were their words).

Do you not see the connection between all of us "haters" complaining about Micheal Rosenbaum snubbing a return for the finale and all of a sudden, he's coming back? Hmmmm......seems to me that the squeaky wheel is the one that gets the grease.

Apparently I am the only one who understood this The Doomsday on the TV show wasn't the Doomsday in the comics anymore then Tom Welling is Superman. In both cases they become that later on. That was just a teaser feud it wasn't meant to be a live action version of what happened in the comics.

A show like Smallville with so much rich history to draw from is not going to tie up every loose end. This is a continuing story its not like your typical TV Show that has a end that ties everything up. If you were expecting that then you were watching the wrong type of show from the begining. I do expect and believe they will tie up the Darksied storyline however.

To all those that took this the wrong way DON'T!! All I am saying is that they should tie up all the loose ends that have came over the past 10 seasons. The true fans that have stuck with the show (like myself) deserve that as a thank you. As far as the comments regarding the rich history of Superman in the comics and how certain villains were introduced; Doomsday was never known to Clark Kent before he was Superman that goes the same for Darkseid. However, I do understand that it is a T.V. show and there are things as budgets, casting, and a whole lot more that we do not see. But they could have made the show just as good or better with villains from Clark's (Superman's) early days.

The show was intended for fans and non-fans alike. You honestly can't expect them to follow continuity and source material to perfection. If that were the case, you'd all be complaining about knowing what was going to happen and about how there is nothing fresh. I love this character as much as the next guy, but for a show trying to please more than fanboys and on a tv budget at that, I think they did just fine.
