"I'm still getting people who recognize me from Smallville," she said, "but some are now saying, 'You're Lisa on 'V'. I love Smallville. I would still be there if the storyline had worked out. I was supposed to be a guest star for a few, then it turnedinto the whole season and there was talk of a spin-off. But it fizzled out. They kind of went a different route with the network's shows, going more with the Gossip Girls type of show than the sci-fi.
"Smallville was a well-oiled machine by the time I got there. They knew what they were doing and were very comfortable. It was nerve-wracking going in, being the new girl and meeting Tom Welling. He is huge, he is Superman, he is intimidating. But then I got to know him and he is sweet. One day I can say to my kids, 'I was Supergirl'. There was a lot of pressure to play Supergirl's specific details, like the D.C. comic version of her. They were looking me up and down every day making sure I looked exactly the way that the network and the fans wanted.
"Whereas with 'V' we're starting from the ground up and there is a lot of pressure to make a great show. We already know how great our show is and the cast works hard. Every script is shocking to us. There is always something new that none of us saw coming. And we have fun. You can't really compare the two shows because one had existed for six years and ours is new. So it is exciting to be a part of something from the ground up. I haven't had a chance to do that before."
