Canada's Space has released a trailer for the Smallville season finale "Salvation' that features footage not seen in the American version. Plus, EW's Michael Ausiello has a spoiler about the finale.

Over at EW.Com, Michael Ausiello has an interesting SPOILER about "Salvation." Apparently there will be a leap forward in time (very vogue in TV these days), only this will only a temporary glimpse into the future of the characters -- which probably includes that bit from the American trailer where the red Superman symbol is reflected in Clark's eyes.

Meh, I havent watched the show since that JSA special but this just looks like another let down - Clark wont fly, the fight will be underwhelming and they'll tease Superman yet again but wont develop the character any more than they have in the past 9 years. ;(

After Miller and Gough left, I don't think I have heard anyone mention the "no flights no tights" rule. I wonder if that is still in effect. Maybe, just maybe, Clark will finally fly. They have been teasing at it for nine years, since the first episode. I think it's time to move on.

Any more thoughts on who will die in the season finale? My guess is Zod, simply from previous seasons. Last season it was Davis/Doomsday, the previous one is was Lex (sort of). They have been killing off the seasonal villains in the finales for the last couple of years.

TYLER: You're lucky - if I had to sit through that 80 minute snorefest of poor acting and yet another Superman tease with no pay off (using the same cape shot they used 8 years ago -yay!) I think I'd kill myself! :P

thedarkknight666: Supernatural is awesome! The way the characters have been developed and the running story from the past 5 years could teach Smallville a hell of a lot!

I think I lost all respect for the show when they hired some random bald guy to play Lex and turned Lana into Krypto-Girl. That and the piss poor season 7 finale where Lex finally found out Clark's secret with was handed dreadfully. In fact, the show has been going downhill since season 5. It's had it's good moments here and there but they're really outweighed by the crap ones IMO.

thedarkknight666: If that would help, I'd be all for it! This whole Apocalypse storyline has really been building from the first episode and although Supernatural, like any show, has had some not great episodes it's been 99.9% quality over the past five years in my eyes!

I get that they dont want to put Clark in costume but why not have him fly now? That could open up so many new storylines instead of the same old stuff they keep churning out week after week!

I used to love the show but the same old will they/wont they storylines as well as the way that they've handled Chloe (she never finished college yet she can hack into pretty much anything...riiiiight) and the other characters just goes to show that they need to either cancel Smallville or get a new team in there to revamp the show!

I'm not the biggest Superman fan/expert but there are alot of great villains they could've used over the years yet we had year after year of nothing but Clark and Lana (the real low point with that was when they did a storyline about Clark being afraid to have sex with her) and re-using villains like Brainiac or dragging out ones like Doomsday only to let fans down at the end of 22 episodes!

I'm looking forward to the season finale but I sure
hope it ain't like season 8! They've done a pretty
good job of improving the tension in this show but
they just don't seem to pay off with their endings!@
The JSA one was kind of weak in the middle. They seem
to pull their punches sometimes, from what I can see,
for no apparent reason! It's extremely frustrating!

They somehow combine dark, serious and seriously
twisted material with side-splitting humor on a
regular basis. The writers on the show should be commended!
