Kristen from E! Online reported in her spoiler column this week that she heard "on good authority" that The CW "most definitely wants a 10th season" of Smallville.

Smallville season 9 has been doing well for CW on Friday nights, surpassing their expectations and pleasing some long time fans by having Clark beginning to fulfill his destiny and finally hooking up Lois. Now if only they would drop the Alfred Gough and Miles Miller rule of "no flights, no tights" we would move up the scale from "pleased" to "happy."

im pretty sure it is a good show if it is pushingfor its 10th season

but I've said this before and ill say it again! Metropolis is the best way to go! but if not go ahead and let this guy fly already. I am sure when this show started they had no idea it would last this long. if the keep the "no flight no tights rule" we will never see superman in this series as strong as it is going

We know Smallville isn't going to last forever. Unless they plan on full out transitioning "Blur" into "Superman" then they've pretty much only got until season 10. I like season 9. I thought season 8 was decent with some really bad mistakes. The issue with the flight is that we don't want them to end the show without him completing his journey into becoming Superman. If he doesn't fly, then the show will be incomplete. We want resolution.

@ Thebatman: it doesn't have to be good to last for 10 seasons, it just has to make money. Metropolis would be cool though.

If enough people didn't think it IS good, then it wouldn't be making money would it?


I'm amped for season 10, but that should be it......The show started when he was 14 years old, 24 sounds like a good time to become SUPERMAN to me. I'm a HUGE advocate for the show and i've seen every season more than once. However, even I would be pissed if the show went more than 10 seasons without him becoming SUPES. If they try to take it past 10, there had better be a MAJOR transition (i.e. METROPOLIS)!

Not true, I've seen plenty of shows that everyone agrees SUCK and have run their course but stay on the air seasons after it should have ended.And by ten seasons in they should have already made a major transition, this show has been shuffling their feet for way too long.

i think they should go from smallville and call it would or earth or soemthing and have him travel like he did in the comics befor a became superman that would be awesome and of course some of it could take place in metropolis and still have the watchtower and all that just have it on a bigger scale
