A DARKNESS LOOMING: This is going to be a tough part for me to talk about simply because I feel like quoting a lot of things from the fourth act and certain conversations that take place between Clark and both his fathers. One is for sure the writers have wasted no time in setting up the major crisis and obstacle Clark must face — sure there will be some of that manifested in the already publically announced villain, Darkseid, all slowly throughout the season we suppose — but we have always known that that his biggest challenge for Clark has always been himself. Its how this obstacle will strike a new chord in the final season that makes this final season interesting, at least we hope.

A HOUSE OF CARDS: I enjoyed watching this premiere episode and for the most part its positive and I believe that fans will be happy, however I feel like there is some negative areas to point out. My negative influx is that the episode moves so fast in trying eliminate the last season events while creating new things of interest, its hard to follow because it has to reintroduce the characters in their old predicaments while putting them into new ones. In fact the whole plotline revolving around Tess and the Luthorcorp lab is so weird its almost distasteful, the only thing that makes it interesting is the reveal and possible season long tease of a former beloved villain, one fans have been clamoring about on the web for months. The reason I feel like this is a negative in the episode is that the tease could eventually be for not and the hopes of the fans for this return could be nothing more than a house of cards ready to fall.

LOIS AND CLARK: I was totally all about this and glad the writers didn’t waste an interesting plot point of Lois knowing Clark’s secret. Remember when Chloe found out Clark’s secret? she tried to get Clark to make the reveal to her? Lois is now in the same situation and there is such an awesome scene between the two in The Daily Planet, that is pretty cute and charming. I love the Lois and Clark relationship on Smallville and think that is the one thing the writers have done almost perfect. I am also glad the writers have no intention for the typical “Clark secret memory wipe” this season. Ultimately, this is a love story that means a lot more this season and possibly more than any other love story in the series.

TO CONCLUDE: Ultimately, the fourth act of the premiere is the meat of the show and I think there is a lot to be excited about this season and what its building towards...

I'm going to be positive and say Darkseid will be awesome. If they want to secure that even more they should get Micheal Ironside to voice him.

For those that question Tom Wellings acting ability need to reexamine their opinion of him. After watching Lazarus, he impressed the shit outta me! The Lois and Clark "pen" scene was some good [frick]ing acting and during the return of Jonathan Kent, he was convincingly moving. Prior to last season, I thought Welling was just an average actor. He impressed me last season with his improvements. He nailed it with Lazarus! I guess those acting lessons paid off.

The premeire was not good. It was annoying when I consider how great season 9's finale was. I find it terrible that the writers overestimate Chloe's importance. I understand that they made her and she has a legacy, but come on! Give me a break! And anyone who says that Tom Welling should be Superman in the reboot should be ashamed of themselves. Tom was so bad in this episode! Overall, I thought it was anti-climatic. It completely wasn't worth my anticipation. I mean "Oh! Evil Lex clone wants to destroy the globe on the Daily Planet in the event that it might kill a bunch of people in the middle of the night. Is Clark gonna save the globe or is he gonna save the love of his life? Can he do both?" Oh please! That's seriously all the mind of Lex Luthor could come up with? And then Clark had the nerve to say he pushed himself harder than ever? Disappointment!

@gorgeousgeeks...To a degree I was a little disappointed, too. It's hard not to get too caught up in the hype and rarely does it meet those expectations. I enjoyed Lazarus, but it was a bit crammed. They covered way too much!

Green Arrow and Rick Flag could have been worked into another episode, but was still good.

Chloe was meh.

But I have to strongly disagree with the old Lex plot, though. That was classic comic book Luther! I wish they would have stretched it out over a few more episodes. We'll see how future Lex scenes play out.

And considering how peeps @CBM are constantly harping on Welling's acting, I was really paying close attention to it. I was impressed! The "pen" and Pa Kent scenes were really impressive. He's stepped up his acting.

Not sure what to make of Darkseid, yet. The animation looked decent, but he may have been revealed too early.

Overall, it seemed rushed and crammed, but well acted. It felt very much like a classic comic book Superman story.

@Yourmomnaked No. Lex would have made a bomb that would have destroyed the building or killed some people. There was a chance that if the globe fell, it only would have done property damage. The writers were probably like "Oh! It would be so cool if the globe fell of the Daily Planet and Clark catches it! We could even put that in the intro!"

At this point I'm getting annoyed. Of course when Tess woke up she would be alone and she could wander the halls and she could find a lab coat with a security card in it. I'm just not okay with this sub-par writing anymore.

And Tom was so bad. That cornfield grave scene was terrible. I was probably cringing. I mean it's not so hard for Tom to do scenes like the pen thing or having a heart to heart with pa Kent. He's been doing this character for years. It's not really "Clark Kent" or "Superman" it's his interpretation that we're used to seeing. His normal Clarkness isn't bad, but whenever he has to show some range he fails.

Then it was so cheesy when his cut glowed as it was being healed. It's like when my dad discovers special effect programs and he can't stop himself from trying to make time bubbles and fireballs and I have to tell him that less is more.

Then I hate how after Clark had an understanding with Jor-El he's back to being the bad guy. It made me mad when they painted him in this light in the beginning and it's annoying that they're taking us back to that place.

I can't believe I wasted my time over the summer and bothered to be excited about this episode.
