Here's why I say. A lot of people were saying that Brandon Routh deserves another shot at Superman. Yet there's also a huge majority of you saying to just start off fresh and reboot the whole thing. Everyone makes great arguments on why they feel the way they do. Here's how I feel I don't want to see Brandon Routh as Superman anymore, but I also don't want a reboot. I simply want a continuation of "Smallville."
I've been watching "Smallville" since its debut in 2001. In my eyes he is Superman. For nine years now I've been watching "Smallville: Superman's origin". The show portrays how he discovered his powers and how he learned to control them. We've seen how he and Lex Luthor became enemies. We've seen cameos from other heroes such as Green Arrow, Aquaman, Flash, and the Justice Society. We've seen the birth of his future enemies such as Doomsday, Metallo, and General Zod. We've also seen how the relationship between Clark and Lois is blossoming and getting closer. Now it's in its tenth season, and he now knows his destiny. I believe his destiny will be realized in the tenth and final season. I believe he will rip his shirt open to reveal the legendary red and yellow shield and that's when every "Smallville" fan including me will have a smile as big as a coat hanger on our faces. It's what we've been waiting for since the 1st episode. But what would really top it off, would be to see the trailer for the "Man of Steel" starring Tom Welling immediately after the last episode. He's been Clark Kent for ten years now and why would he turn down a huge pay day to play a character he's been portraying for a decade now. As much as we're anticipating his dawning the legendary red and blue. Superman, "Smallville," and Tom Welling fans would go nuts to see him in a Superman movie. I honestly feel like "The Man of Steel" can shatter box office records, but only if Tom Welling is at the helm.
