SUPERMAN: RED SON Trailer Sees The Russian Man Of Steel Bring Superpowers To The Cold War

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first trailer for the animated adaptation of Superman: Red Son, and it's fair to say that this should make fans of Mark Millar's acclaimed comic very happy.

There's been a lot of excitement surrounding the animated adaptation of Superman: Red Son, as the classic Elseworlds tale from writer Mark Millar and artists Dave Johnson and Kilian Plunkett becomes the latest DC Comics story to get the small screen treatment.

Now, the first trailer has been released, and superpowers come to the Cold War in a big was as we get to see alternate takes on not only Superman and Lex Luthor, but also Batman, the Green Lantern Corps, and Wonder Woman. It looks like a solid retelling of the original story which explored the concept of a Man of Steel who landed in the Soviet Union instead of the United States.

"Red Son" was loosely adapted in season four of Supergirl with an alternate Kora Zor-El.

Directed by Sam Liu, Superman: Red Son stars Jason Isaacs as Kal-El, Amy Acker as Lois Lane, Diedrich Bader as Lex Luthor, Phil Morris as James Olsen, Phil LaMarr as John Stewart, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman, Sasha Roiz as Hal Jordan, Roger Craig Smith as Batman, Paul Williams as Braniac, and William Salyers as Joseph Stalin. It's set to be released early next year!

I hope this is good, was disappointed by Hush. But this seems to be done in non-canon to their animated movie-verse like Gotham by Gaslight. Please community do not spoil the ending for those who have never read it.

I think the question on everyone's mind is how this fits into the Justice League: War continuity.

Finally, a faithful looking adaptation from DC Animation. Should be a nice pallet cleanser after the abysmal Batman: Hush.

@BountyCipher - Would also like to see Justice.
To bad it would probably be impossible to recreate Alex Ross's art, a big budget theatrical animated movie probably couldnt even do that.

Looks cool. Anyone see the fight between Tyler Hoachlen Supes and Brandon Routh Supes on Crisis on InfiniteEarths ....fvkin awesome! BR is such a great Suoerman ...great to see him back in the red and blue. Would've given anything to see him have another shot in Superman Returns 2.

As long as they don’t [frick] up the plot like they did with that horrible Reign of Supermen adaptation. I wanted to like that, but it was the drizzling shits.
