Fourteen years after donning the cape in Bryan Singer's highly divisive Superman Returns, Brandon Routh will reprise the role for the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event, and we have your first look at the actor back in the iconic costume right here.

There were rumors that Routh would actually be playing the older version of The Man of Steel first introduced in Mark Waid and Alex Ross' acclaimed Kingdom Come comic, and the actor's greying-at-the-temples look along with his costume's stylized "S" logo confirms it.

Routh isn't the only previous incarnation of Superman returning for the crossover, as he'll be joined by the small-screen versions played by Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Welling - along with a whole host of new and returning DC heroes and villains.

Crisis on Infinite Earths is set to begin on Sunday, Dec. 8 with Supergirl, before continuing with Monday's episode of Batwoman and Tuesday’s installment of The Flash. Then, after a month-long holiday break, the event concludes with the Jan. 14 episode of Arrow followed by a special installment of Legends of Tomorrow.
