SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN: Where Is Zack Snyder Looking For Inspiration?

Has WB debunked the rumors of wanting an older Batman? Zack Snyder searching for inspiration on a new title?

An interesting tidbit of information from Superman Homepage may reveal that Zack Snyder is currently more focused on finding the perfect title for the film rather than the recently rumoured short list of actors.

"A Superman Homepage source tells us that Zack Snyder may currently be more involved with movie title possibilities and how to represent the film, with the director looking at "World's Finest" and "Public Enemies" ideas for inspiration."

Has WB heard the public outcry against writer, David Goyer's VERSUS title? Is there still a chance that we will get a younger Batman? I know many fanboys, and fangirls, have been growing weary of these rumors. Some of us, like me, are waiting for the dust to settle. Hopefully, this bit of news will put our minds at ease - for those who weren't exactly in favor of the recent rumors.

Good find Julez! For a minute I thought WB was about to bitchify this franchise. Great news! Now let the speculation begin! My money is on Hoechlin!

Though "World's Finest" doesn't fit the tone of the new Man of Steel films, I feel that's what the new movie should be called.

I think they should wait for a public enemies movie. Introduce Luthor and a couple of the other people in the movie. I'd love to see that though.

I was already getting used to the old Batman and my first choices would be Eric Bana or Karl Urban.
The reason I was ok with the old Batman is because I saw the chance for them to just continue and instead of reboot after TDK they could have a done an indirect sequel, keeping in mind that its the same Nolan uiniverse but mashed with Zack Snyder style and with other stories.

If they go younger then it cant be that same Chirstian Bale s Batman but they should reboot and make a solo movie first before the team up IMO.

kinda obvious, don't you think ? ... first Goyer need to finish his script, then they are going to make new Batman costume (it needs to fit into the story). Then they will do some screen tests.
And finally choose the god damn Batman.

I MEAN whats the point to make an older Batman if its not the older Batman that we saw at TDKR, just reboot it the right way or continue TDK universe with another actor(but before that I would try to make an irrecusable offer to Bale).

jerryblake@ i don't think so. before they even finish the script they need to know if their Batman is a beginner or a veteran. You can not just finish the script, then make the suit and then do screen tests for actors between 20-50.

They need to know by now in what stage of his vigilante carreer this Btman is. It should be in the outline, before the script, before the new suit and before the screen test.

Worlds Finest for sure.

But Public Enemies would be good too, especially if the public is against Superman and Batman. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.

Idk, just hoping this isn't a VS movie. They can fight and disagree at first but Lex better be the main antagonist in this.

a younger, faster, stronger Superman versus an older Batman means death to Bruce Wayne. END OF THE STORY.

Heat vision and super-speed should do the trick, Bruce is a dead man in like 2 seconds.

@MattBracken -That's great news! That means that they will most likely be going with the "World's Finest" title like most of us wanted! Thank God!

After GL, I think WB is really coming on message boards like this and taking our opinions into account!

rumor has it that Ryan Gosling is also a front runner for the Batman role. But it's a bit stupid to me.

WB is scrambling. Just give us a [frick]ing title, and a production date

why people wants to see Ryan Gossling as Bruce Wayne/Batman is beyond my comprehention. He seems a little too soft to be Batman and he loks nothing like Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne is good looking and Ryan is ugly and his eyes are together.

Just call it World's Finest, DC is recently known for not putting the main character's name in the title so it wouldn't be called Superman/Batman or Batman/Superman etc.

honestly how did no one get it was all false you dont have 45 year old brolin and 32 goling vying for same role
SnapperCarr

We need a younger Batman, about early 30s so he'd be around the same age as Superman. They are supposed to be two sides of the same coin.
SnapperCarr
SnapperCarr - 8/6/2013, 12:00 AM
And thank god they are not getting inspiration from Frank Miller!
jerryblake
jerryblake - 8/6/2013, 12:00 AM
@Banner

not necessarily. Remember Batman is a tactician. Older, more experienced Batman could take down Superman any time.

I'm doubting they will go with older Batman routine. Rumors started to spread after Snyder said that Miller's Batman was his inspiration for this movie. Everyone went ape shit with this "older Batman" ...

can Joe Manganiello act?? I only saw him in Spiderman which was a very minor role back in 2002 and in Magic Mike but he danced more than talked I nthe strip movie so its hard to tell. I don't feel that he is enough of a good actor to be playing Batman especially after we got an Oscar Winner*(Christian Bale).
I liked the Punisher option better. I STILL want to se this actor kicking some ass in a suer hero movie role.

In the dark knight returns wasn't batman in his 50s? If it's taking a leaf out of that storyline he'd at least have to be slightly older?
OcciferPing

Call it Superman: World's Finest. Then everyone wins.

What I don't understand is the need for an older batman. Did we not just get one in TDKR? If WB is going to go that route then why recast when you can just use Christian Bale again and continue off TDKR? Not saying I want that to happen.

I want a younger Batman. Maybe like Year One status. I think what would be fascinating is seeing 2 similar aged heroes having differences since they are both fairly new at what they are doing and may not agree with each other, thus leading to the inevitable VS battle. You could definitely have Batman as the experienced detective we all want him to be. But I want to see him evolve more once a JLA movie gets made. Then we really see how far both of them have come since setting aside their differences in the MOS sequel.
