Fans remain fascinated with and very curious about the now infamous Superman movie that might have been from Tim Burton, starring Nicolas Cage as the Man Of Steel himself. We've seen various pieces of concept art and know a little about the script from Kevin Smith, but now we'll have a full length documentary on the subject. In the above trailer there are quotes from Nic Cage from an older interview with MTV; and here that is in full.
"The fact that Tim and I were pretty far down the road designing ["Superman Lives"], and I know that with Tim and where I was going to go, we would have done something really special," says Cage.
"At least it's out there in the ether that that could have happened, but we don't have to make the movie. It's still interesting to people." Thanks to a very successful Kickstarter campaign, we will now get to see
The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?, and hopefully get to find out quite a bit more about what went wrong on the production. Either way, whether he got to play Superman or not, Cage remains a huge fan of the character.
"I do think that I had the win-win situation, because that character is such a bullseye that you have to hit. He's one of the most precious icons of our country."
Jon Schnepp's documentary managed to raise $115,110 and is set for release sometime in December.
