Teaser For THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN LIVES: WHAT HAPPENED?

Fans remain fascinated with and very curious about the now infamous Superman movie that might have been from Tim Burton, starring Nicolas Cage as the Man Of Steel himself. We've seen various pieces of concept art and know a little about the script from Kevin Smith, but now we'll have a full length documentary on the subject. In the above trailer there are quotes from Nic Cage from an older interview with MTV; and here that is in full. "The fact that Tim and I were pretty far down the road designing ["Superman Lives"], and I know that with Tim and where I was going to go, we would have done something really special," says Cage. "At least it's out there in the ether that that could have happened, but we don't have to make the movie. It's still interesting to people." Thanks to a very successful Kickstarter campaign, we will now get to see The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?, and hopefully get to find out quite a bit more about what went wrong on the production. Either way, whether he got to play Superman or not, Cage remains a huge fan of the character. "I do think that I had the win-win situation, because that character is such a bullseye that you have to hit. He's one of the most precious icons of our country."

Jon Schnepp's documentary managed to raise $115,110 and is set for release sometime in December.

I personally like Burtons films. I think they get criticised too much.

Some of Burton's films are good, but the likes of Frankenweenie or Planet of the Apes were just awful.

Jon Schnepp is cool. Like cage but can't see him as Superman. I don't like Burtons films they all have this creepy weird vibe too them. I did like his Batman and the Pee wee Movie nothing else. I feel bad for Cage because some jerk stole his Superman comic book.

There must be GIANT SPIDERS! It could be an epic great Superman movie, but Can't see Nick as Superman) Not his role... and the costume is like Batman's re-design... but GIANT SPIDERS!!! The script was so awesome!!!

I'm definitely interested in this, mainly because I am interested in the different production phases of movies, but also because Superman is my all-time favorite superhero.

But I am SO glad this movie was scrapped. It would've been horrendous. Nicholas Cage as Superman?! WHAT?!?! smh

And I'm not a fan of Tim Burton. Other than his Batman movies I can't watch any of his other work.

Nick Cage for Lex Luthor in World's Finest! Finally he won't have to use a wig for a movie...

money was probably used to travel around to different places, and lock in interviews with people and fnd the equipment, and to pay studios to release certain things about the movie. stuff like that. its not gonna be hollywood level filmmaking because it got money from kick starter.

Superman Lives would have been the BAtman and Robin of Superman. This would have made Quest for Peace look like a masterpiece.

This all being said I don't think there is a single one of us that aren't curious to what this movie is like. There is a part of me that wants to see it.
