TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: SHREDDER'S REVENGE Retro-Style Video Game On The Way

A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-op video game is on the way from the team behind Streets of Rage 4, and fans of the classic arcade adventures of the Heroes in a Half-Shell should be very excited...

By MarkCassidy - Mar 11, 2021 11:03 AM EST

A new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game titled Shredder's Revenge from Dotemu and Tribute Games is on the way, and the trailer teases an old-school arcade-style adventure for the Heroes in a Half-Shell.

The opening sequence pays homage to the original animated series, as Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello battle classic enemies Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, Baxter Stockman and more alongside April O'Neil and Master Splinter.

The gameplay footage, meanwhile, showcases side-scrolling beat-em-up action inspired by the TMNT NES and SNES games from the early '90s, and reminiscent of Streets of Rage 4 and 2010's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Check out the announcement trailer and poster below and let us know if you plan on picking this one up.

Get ready to take control of your favourite pizza eating and butt-kicking turtles, as Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael gear up to take down Shredder and the Foot Clan in TMNT: Shredder's Revenge!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge doesn't have an official release date yet, but we've been told to expect it "soon" for PC and (presumably) consoles.

Yeeeeeeeeeeees!

The 2003 TMNT for the PS2 was underrated. Maybe the best TMNT game IMO.

@Odin - it sounds odd but they don't make games like this anymore. I would love a remaster for something like this, honest.

@BlackBeltJones - underrated reinvention of the turtles, it was the perfect mix between the serious original cómics and the 80s kiddie cartoons

@BlackBeltJones - I never got to play that one. It's on my list of older games to play. I had the Game Boy Advance version. It kind of played like the NES/SNES games.

Love me those classic Turtles games, so this is a no-brainer. And it taught me never to pick up a pizza box if it's resting in front of a car in an open garage... unless I'm fast enough.

TheDarkLastSonKnight
TheDarkLastSonKnight - 3/11/2021, 12:31 PM
What we need is a Co-op Ninja Turtles game in an open world NYC- In the vein of Spiderman or Arkham, with the sewers an integral part of the game mechanics and story.
