"Lastly, this is a full sample of what direction we were taking non-running combat. We built a little arena area where we could test out his special moves. Combat was built around the Mark of Kri combat system where you could assign a controller button to an opponent and then anytime you pressed that button you would instantly dash to that opponent and strike him. There was a whole combo system integrated and you could use combos on a single opponent or spread the blows out across multiple opponents. The system is a bit too complex to really explain here but there was going to be a good amount of depth to it. It wasn’t just going to be button mashing. If you watch closely you'll see a variety of Flash's classic moves that we were trying to incorporate." - Greg Miller

Greg Miller has since moved on to building apps.  His latest, Monster Rift, is featured below.  It’s free to play so do him a favor and check it out

This look... cheap. Even if I know that it's not finished and the graphics are just for test, I really don't like the kind of mechanic "press the button Z to hit A and press X again..."

I DO think a flash game could be really great arrow too

but I really don't think a good superman game is possible you would have to depower him and then whats the point

Since Rocksteady has a freeflowing fight engine for Arkham that already slows down speed as you fight, I don't see how it couldn't work for Flash. The speeds would be adjusted to be more dramatically different but add things like bullet trails to avoid and overwhelm him with enemies and you can make it a fun way to fight as Flash.

They need to make a Green Arrow, Flash, and Aquaman game ASAP

I was thinking that the combat would be a lot better if they had simply played the game with a controllable slow motion mode where the Flash moves normally. Some speed trail moves could still work (top turn or sonic style homing attack), but I just don't see how you'll feel like the Flash if you don't actually fight like him.

But of course, that would've only been viable if the game had actually come out...

A Flash game if done correctly would have been awesome. Maybe it's just me but i'm actually getting tired of Rocksteady which only have there entire focus on Batman. Another proper studio should develop games based on other DC heroes.

On paper, it's certainly... unique. But the more I think about it, a combat system like that would really show the speed and sporadic quality of the character... I like it. The camera needed some work, naturally...

@nailbiter111

Thanks for posting this.

I don't understand why people are knocking at the way the game looks. Do people not know this is an early build of the game? My guess probably running on a PS2 dev kit. I would say the game had easily another year or maybe two to finish the game.

So what you see here isn't what the finished product would have looked like. I wonder if WB now owns the source code? If they do I would like to see them finish the game and release it for the Xbox One, PS4 & PC. It seems like such a waste to throw away the source code. If they don't want to make the same game as this Flash game would have been. I see no reason WB or whoever they hirer to release the game couldn't use this build of the game as a building block for their Flash game.

It's to bad this is the final piece of the Flash game. I like seeing things like this.

I wonder if because Flash is now being shown. If the Superman game Factor Five was working on will be shown next.

Is that a Romy and Michele's Highschool reunion gif, @Deathbyexile!?
I didn't know those existed. Thank you.

Just doesn't look like you can do a lot with the character. If those letter buttons engage certain enemies, then that means they couldn't do power combos, right?
I like the idea of a Flash game, but it's going to have to be story-driven, not sandbox just to suit the limitations of a character with limited powers and no gadgets. The most suitable presentation would be first-person view, which could do for speed what Mirror's Edge did for heights.
