"Worlds Collide."
The first trailer for The Flash has been confirmed to air during the Super Bowl this Sunday, and DC Studios has now debuted the first theatrical poster in anticipation!
The one-sheet features the Fastest Man Alive (Ezra Miller) standing under the shadow of the Bat.
Both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck's versions of Batman were originally going to appear in the movie, but we've heard that some significant changes were made over the past few months. At any rate, this artwork makes it pretty clear that some version of The Dark Knight is going to play a part in the story.
You may notice that Miller's face is not shown, and their name is nowhere to be seen on the poster - with good reason! The actor has caused more than a few headaches for the powers that be with his troubling (some would say outright inexcusable) behaviour, but WBD and DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran will be hoping the movie turns out to be good enough to cancel out (or at least combat) the negativity surrounding the film.
That obviously remains to be seen, but Gunn did hail The Flash as “probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made" during the recent DCU slate Q&A, so he's clearly confident that the fanbase will be won over.
The Flash recently moved its release date up by one week, and is now set to race into theaters on June 16, 2023.
