INTRODUCING FIRESTORM — Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team look for another Firestorm match for Dr. Stein (Victor Garber). When the team meets Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (guest star Franz Drameh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) has her reservations about whether Jax is the right match for Dr. Stein. Iris (Candice Patton) surprises Joe (Jesse L. Martin) while Barry and Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) grow closer. Stefan Pleszczynski directed the episode written by Kai Yu Wu & Joe Peracchio.


Well, we all saw this coming thanks to that promo! Jax Jackson (not "Jay" as previously reported) will indeed be the new half of Firestorm, and where this leaves Ronnie - who I would guess is stuck on Earth-2 - and Jason Rusch remains to be seen. There's nothing else too revealing here other than the fact that Barry and Patty will grow closer, but be sure to let us know your thoughts below.

The premiere was pretty good. Some hamfisted dialogue but whatever. I really like the concept of them doing Earth-2

Wonder what qualifications are needed to be a suitable match for Dr. STEIN??? And wonder why this kid would wanna merge with an old guy haha. Jax is a weird name, why NOT KEEP IT AS JAY?

Next weeks episode is the one I have been waiting all summer for, anything after that is just a bonus to me. I am also pretty sure Ronnie is lost on one of the Parallel Earths after the singularity closed. Maybe he got sent to the Crime Syndicate Earth-3.

...A match? I thought only Stein and Ronnie could fuse because they were both effected by the particle accelerator with the same thing fusion power.

Those atom smasher effects were tough on the eyes. I loved the flash day stuff even though Barry was all emo and depressed and stuff. Did the Amell kid leave the show or what cuz given his past record he can't keep a show

Had no idea Jefferson Jackson was actually in the 80's Firestorm comics. Well at least this makes losing Ronnie Raymond not so bad...

Ronnie is definitely on a parallel earth. In season one episode one Iris keeps mentioning the Atom Smasher (the particle accelerator) and in season two episode one Barry faces off against the Atom Smasher. Just found that to be interesting.
