THE FLASH Toy Offers A First Look At The Return Of Batman's Batwing

A new toy for The Flash has been revealed, and it offers a first look at Batman's Batwing, the iconic vehicle Michael Keaton's Caped Crusader last flew into action with in Tim Burton's Batman Returns...

Some new merchandise for The Flash has found its way online, and it confirms the Dark Knight's Batwing will make its return!

While Ben Affleck will suit up as the Caped Crusader again in this movie, Michael Keaton is getting the lion's bat's share of screentime, somehow finding himself in the new reality created by the Fastest Man Alive's trip back in time.

With that in mind, you won't be shocked to see this Batwing has more in common with the one last seen in Batman Returns than 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

It's another cool throwback to Keaton's time as Batman in a movie that looks set to be full of them. The formation of DC Studios means big changes are coming to what's now been dubbed the DCU, and all signs point to the actor no longer being part of future plans.

He had been set to return as Bruce Wayne in HBO Max's Batgirl, though that was scrapped long before James Gunn and Peter Safran were hired. Since then, we've learned that the idea was to follow his cameo there with a Batman Beyond movie, while we're sure this Batman was also going to factor into Crisis on Infinite Earths as well.

Oh, and there's the small matter of an Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom cameo which may or may not happen. Keaton shot that, was replaced by Affleck, and now...well, we might not see either of them in a sequel likely to be Jason Momoa's farewell to the King of Atlantis before he transforms into the DCU's Lobo.

As for The Flash, excitement remains somewhat muted due to Ezra Miller's recent antics, though we did recently learn that a trailer is likely to be unveiled during February's Super Bowl.

The Flash is set to be released in theaters on June 23, 2023.

rewatched batman returns over christmas with my gf and it really is an all-timer cbm. just such an intensely personal work that somehow got released as a summer tentpole from a major studio, with burton at the height of his powers.
really have no interest in an ezra miller flash film, but i already know the pavlovian response i'll have to seeing keaton back in the suit. just wish it was for a movie that sounded more promising, and actually revolved around him.

The Batwing in the picture is pretty cool looking, I won't lie. But nothing beats Keaton's Batwing. His Batmobile is also the coolest looking Batmobile of all time. No comics, shows, or other movies even come close.
