On The Challenges Of Playing An Iconic Marvel Character:

"There’s a lot of pressure with something that existed for so many years before you were involved and already has a fan base, but you don’t let that affect the way you approach the film. I approached it by doing it as well as I can. Whether it’s a small film, or something like this, it’s very exciting and daunting."

On How His Banishment To Earth Affects Thor:

"It’s a big breaking point in Thor’s journey. He learns some humility. He starts out as a brash, cocky, young warrior and she certainly influences him in a different direction and gives him a different angle to look at life from. It's an ongoing battle within Thor, taming the berserk warrior that is in him."

On How His Character Develops Over The Course Of The Movie:

"He has to be that warrior and he still has to have those elements. That’s what makes him Thor. But also, you don’t want to watch a guy for too long on screen who’s just a jerk all the time. You get moments of it, where it’s kind of cool and bad, but then it just gets old. You’ve got to find that balance, and at the right times, sneak a bit of it back in."

On Working With Kenneth Branagh And Marvel Studios:

"It’s been brilliant! It’s the most character development, discussions on scenes and back-story that I’ve ever had. He always had the attitude that you should read books--read this, look at all these influences, talk for hours. Maybe it means nothing or maybe it gives us one moment in the film, and it’s worth it. That’s part of the fun for me, all that research and speaking to as many people as I can and soaking up all that stuff."

On Training For The Role:

"It was a lot of protein shakes, chicken breasts, a lot of calories, food and working out. I’ve tried to get as much rest as I can, that’s the other third of the equation. I put on about 20 pounds, and then lost a lot of it since shooting, because I wasn’t eating that amount."

On Wielding Mjolnir And The Difficulties That Came With It:

"It’s a rather impractical weapon in a sense. It’s got this big huge head on it and a tiny little handle. We talked about boxing a lot actually, I’ve done Muay Thai for years, which keeps you on your toes, but boxing is a more grounded technique. You talk about Mike Tyson, low to the ground, using your power through your legs. A lot of that influenced Thor, with big shoulder movements. It becomes sort of gritty, street fighting stuff at times. He also happens to have a big hammer in his hands at the time too."

This movie will be Marvel's best yet. I have a feeling that Tom Hiddleston in particular will get a lot of acclaim for his portrayal of Loki. Add in the enthusiastic Chris Hemsworth and an awesome bunch of actors like Anthony Hopking and Natalit Portman, and you've got a recipe for success. Not to mention the brilliant Kenneth Branagh directing the thing! EPIC WIN!!! :D

same stuff getting repeated over and over.

Thor will be the best marvel film to date. (taps on wood)
the costumes looked a little ho-key with the concept arts but seeing it in the trailer blew me away. it captured the thor i have always wanted to see...on a side note shame about Jon.

i think all the actors will do great in it...i know a lot of people are excited to see tom hiddleston's loki, but im really pumped for hemsworth's performance. i hope that thor opens this actor up to the mainstream like avatar did for sam worthington, i really think "THOR" when i see hemsworth portayal. thats awesome! and the guy gained 20 lbs?! sweet!

Doesnt anyone remember back when Disney bought Marvel people were thinking Thor would be the movie not to get made? Oh how times have changed. I have only read a little of Thor, but the movie looks awesome. I am not too educated on him yet, but the movie is definitely going to bring in a big fanbase, same for Green Lantern.

not saying that this won't be epic guys but don't expect too much or ur not going to be happy... not that it's a bad film it's just ur expectations get too high and then u think it's a failure...

people are putting up really high expectations here.

i would love this movie to be so good. the trailer looked promising. but i'm going to restraing myself a bit by calling it epic allready.

Chris looks good as thor in the trailer. but i cant say anything about tom playing loki. people calling his performance allready in line with heath's joker is a bit to quick. we havent seen anything yet from him.

i remember loki being deviace (sorry for the english) all the time and having that really villianous look. i really want to see that in the movie. I remember watching the dark knight and seeing heath playing joker and thinking to myself .. "my god that is REALLY the joker on screen right out of the comic books" i hope i will geth the same feeling with thor and loki.

but all and all. seeing the trailer gives me hope for it. :D

20 lbs of muscle he will need to re-add before Avengers. Must be great to get paid to work out. Most of us have to fit it between our jobs.

Marvel has got it going on! I like the fact that they choose a certain director for certain movies i.e. Branaugh for Thor, he kills the old english stuff (I know Thor is Norse, close enough) and Johnston with WWII, period movies! These two movies, Thor, TFA, are really going to set themselves apart from everything else. I just hope Disney opens up the checkbook and allows Marvel to make all the movies they want after these movies make over $300,000,000!
