Creatures in Marvel's Thor to Look Awesomely Hideous

Fan Boy Web has posted an interesting, but obvious scoop, reffering to the creatures that will be featured in Thor. Check it Out

awesomely

With a great chunk of Marvel's Thor being set in a mythical setting, Asgard, pretty much confirms there will be mythical creatures, based on the actual comics, and Norse Mythology overall. One thing we don't know is how they may look. Fan Boy Web has just posted what would be the answer to that.

Pivotal Norse character is the Ice Giant Ymir. Ymir is said to be accompanied by some formidable Frost Giants. Word has it that the special effects for these legendary monsters would cause fans to turn a cold shoulder. It is said they look downright terrible.

Here is some previous concept art from the supposed game based off the film. They feature the frost giants and creatures the sources was referring to above.

MF: Just so you're not confused, this is good news. They are NOT saying the effects are Bad, but the way the creatures are supposed to look is bad. Basically they are saying the creatures are UGLY.

They aren't even done filming yet, I am sure they will add all of the finishing touches during post-production. Marvel is not going to let bad cgi into their movies.

meh, as the film has yet to go into post production I doubt anybody outside the production team has seen what the creatures will look like.

i agree with thewhtguardian - it is still a loooooooooooooong way off, and like Gollum's design, they will probably be done, redone, tweaked, scrapped, redone several times before the movie is finished. im not worried.

Watch the special features on Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk, and see what everything looked like early on. Movie making is a process. This movie is still in that process.

i think like MF said, it is a good thing. maybe their "causing fans to turn a cold shoulder" is supposed to be some attempt at ice humor...

Yeah, I think they are saying these look bad as in not good.

They also say:

"Let’s hope these larger than life villains are still being put through their developmental paces and aren’t suffering from global warming."

yeah, cold shoulder means ignoring or spurning so it seemed to be saying that the effects were so bad that fans would abandon the movie. That's how I read it anyway.

Oh, and check out my spoiler free review of the premier of the 5th season of Doctor Who.

If Marvel is goin that path then it is faithfull to the comics and mythology. The mystical creatures are supposed to llok scary and downright disgusting. Very good news indeed.
The difference between Greek and Norse myth is that Norse offers a wide variety of some truly malicious monsters while Greek sometimes reference their monsters as a mixture of animals and sometimes try to make them look cool/imposing meaning they are scary yet not that creepy compared to Norse.
I am not degrading Greek to Norse at all but Norse does contain a bit more style.

Just wanted to share that cus I love mythology and comic books.
