Idris Elba didn't have an awful lot to do in THOR, but he still managed to make his presence felt as Heimdall (something which surely still sticks in the minds of the narrow minded racists who opposed him being cast in the role). In the following video interview, the British actor hints at a slightly more action packed role in the Alan Taylor helmed Thor: The Dark World and also comments on the differences between working with him and Kenneth Branagh. Also mentioned is his part in the forgettable Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance and his desire to still play an actual superhero. Check it out below and sound off with your thoughts in the usual place.
Marvel’s "Thor: The Dark World" continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.
